Save your money with IRS Free File

IRS free file is 100 percent free

As a CPA that has concentrated on small business taxpayers I always felt that low income taxpayers where getting ripped off by refund anticipation loans and other fees tacked on to their tax return preparation fee. If you calculated the days that the money was being advanced versus all the fees for that benefit to get the refund earlier the overall rate may make a loan shark look like a better deal.

So I was very happy to learn about the IRS Free file program that lets taxpayers who in 2007 earned less than $ 54,000 file their taxes online for free and that inculdes online filing. This can save people some of their hard earned money, especailly those that can not afford to loose a penny.

In fact I am considering making some educational tools available to help taxpayers figure out if they qualify for this free offer. In addition perhaps a list of tips of things to remember so that people get the largest refund possible.

The link for the IRS free file program is:

If there is any way that I could assist besides the two suggestions above please leave some comments below.
