Angelica Colmenares, popularly known as Angel Locsin in the Philippine Entertainment Industry is one of the famous personalities truly admired by men and women alike. Born on April 23, 1985, she is a tv star, film actress and producer, product endorser, commercial model and now, fashion designer.
She started out as a commercial model and was later on launched in GMA-7's youth oriented program "Click". She first became controversial when she appeared in the Men's Magazine FHM knowing the fact that she is a teen program mainstay. She was on the news when her then boyfriend Miko Sotto died in a building accident. Instead of entertaining negatives vibes, she decided to concentrate on her career.
She became a household name when she played the role of Alwina in the first successful fantaserye of GMA-7 "Mulawin" opposite Richard Guitierrez. Her popularity rose even more when she was chosen to play the lead in the tv show "Darna" opposite Dennis Trillo. She had a number of movies, product endorsements, tv guestings and out of town shows. She was also voted at FHM Philippines' Sexiest Woman in 2005 after being on the top 10 for two years. She played the role of Sabina in the magical show "Majika" again opposite Dennis Trillo. The main villain in the show is Katrina Halili, who later on reigned as the sexiest Filipina by FHM Philippines in 2006 and 2007. Angel Locsin consistently placed on the second spot for two years.
Angel Locsin's Career Move
Her last project with GMA Network is Asian Treasures, which is arguably the most expensive tv production ever as they did film in other Asian countries. She was paired with Robin Padilla with Marvin Agustin and Diana Zubiri playing second lead.
In 2007, she decided to fly to London and pursue a crash course in Fashion Design. When she came back to the Philippines, she signed a contract with ABS-CBN, GMA Network's rival network.
She is now playing the lead role in the horror-suspense-drama Lobo opposite Piolo Pascual, one of the countries' best actors. She recently launched her own clothing line "Angel Active" and movie projects with Star Cinema are currently on pre-production phase.
