Introduction to Finance Affiliate Marketing

Promoting Finance and Insurance Affiliate programs online can be very rewarding. With some of the highest payouts in the Affiliate Marketing World it may be time for you to add a finance or insurance site to your Virtual Real Estate.

Competitive

Yes it is a very competitive space but for small niche focused sites targetting the smaller return keywords, There is still plenty of money to be made. Don;lt try and gfo after the major keywords such as Mortgage, Loan, or Insurance , instead go niche or go local. For example:

Home Improvement Loans

California Home Loan Broker

In this way you will reuce the competition for that keyword and you could attract the bulk of the traffic.

Potential Returns

I have been Finance Affiliate Marketing sine 2003 and working in the online finance world since 1999. Commissions have changed a great deal but in the UK they are now fairly established and common rates are (US Dollar Amounts in Brackets to give you an Idea)

Car Insurance £50 - £95 ($100 - $180) per Completed Case

Home Insurance £20 - £95 ($40 - $180) per Completed Case

Mortgages £70 - £110 ($140 - $220) per Completed Case

Loans £50 - £200 ($100 - $400) per Completed Case - This is an interesting one as some Secured Loans will payout 4% of the loan value as commision. So if the loan was for £100,000 you could earn £4,000 ($8,000) in commissions!

You don't need many of those to make car payments.

Where to Find Good Deals

The key to all affiliate marketing comes down to trust and finding goood partners to work with. Luckily, Affiliate Networks signed good deals with most of the major high street companies. It also works in your favour to have a website with recognised brand names. It is almost like a silent endorsement of you and you site.

How to Setup a Blog for Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing Benefits by Shawn Collins

Promoting Finance Affiliate Programs Tips

This hub is not about general Affiliate Marketing techniques, I am sure there are bettter, much more focussed hubs, but in terms of finance and insurance in the UK it is slightly different as this business is regulated.

Stay Within The Law

This means, in the main, you will have to use the marketing materials provided to make sure you comply with the Law. If you have an idea for an advert them run it by the network and they may be able to get it approved but try and stick with what they give you, it is easier.

If you have a mailing list as the network if they have any email creative, you will be amazed how quickly this can be provided for a suitable list size.

Make Sure You Understand The Affiliate Offer.

Is it pay per lead, pay per application, pay per sale. if in doubt ask before you signup. For example Pay per sale on Insurance can happen same day so the commission will be paid quickly. On a secured loan , it could take 30 or even 60 days before the case completes so you could in effect be waiting 90 days or more to get paid.

Understanding this will remove any surprises later on.

Multiple Points Of Attack

I would suggest and this goes for any affiliate markeing use as many different methods as possible. Here are a few ideas:

Blogging

Article Marketing

NIche Website

Email Marketing

Pay Per Click Marketing

Classified Ads

Forum Marketing

Social Marketing (Add links to your profile pages etc.)

Offline Marketing (Local newspaper classfieds or Postcards) to promote you website

Thanks -- some useful resources here, a couple of which I've not heard of before. I'll be testing the water in the UK finance market myself soon, so they'll come in handy!
