A financial planner deals with things such as cash flow management, education planning, retirement planning, investment planning, risk management, insurance planning, tax planning, and estate planning. As a parent we wear more than one hat at a time however one of the most important is financial planner. The fate of your families finances are in your capable hands but don't forget all your knowledge will best serve your children when you pass it on to them. Parents have so many resources today for financial planning teaching children at a young age is a great way to get them familiar with the world of finance and how to handle their money.

One of the easiest ways to educate yourself in the area of financial planning is to take advantage of the wealth of knowledge offered for free online. I love the fact that there are so many free resources for this all important issue for the family. There are a lot of experts out there that love to answer questions so at the bottom I have included links to free education courses concerning financial planning and a few links to what questions you may want to ask a professional financial planner.

Letting your children see a financial planning budget graph is a good way to let them see the impact of where they chose to spend their money. I have also included a link to a graph you could use for your child to show them where not only the family budget goes but you could make up a graph to show them how to be a financial planner with their own money as well. Teaching children about finances in my family is a life long learning process as the economy changes our budget has to adjust I feel it's important to educate our children about the never ending cycle of learning about the world of finance and how to adjust when needed. Not only can they can they learn about finances they can feel confident that they will know how to handle their finances as they grow up into the adult world of finances.
