Niche Marketing

The key to being successful online is finding a niche that is profitable. You could be an expert in something and write volumes about it, but if there is no way to profit from your work, you will not make money from it. The best thing is to find something that you know a lot about and have a strong desire to share that knowledge with others and find a way to profit from it. Not all niches are profitable. You can write article after article about how to cut vegetables and cook, but if you can't tie it into a product for someone to purchase, you won't make any money.

Niche marketing is very targeted marketing. It is finding someone with a particular interest and creating a product or selling a product to them that will benefit them. Almost every niche can be profitable, but some are definately more profitable than others. While swimming may not be as popular as football, believe me there is money to be made. Competitive swimsuits run into the hundreds of dollars and are worn once or twice. Lessons from quality instructors can start at $50 an hour.

Listening to music is an enjoyable experience, but don't assume that only the highest caliber musicians make money. There are many ways to generate an income from this niche. Start teaching people who know less than you do. Make sure that you have someone to refer them to when they get better than you. Create a blog and introduce new artists. Recommend products that will help improve the quality of music. Pianists need more than just pianos. They also need metronomes to keep time, music, finger practice exercise books and each piano needs a yearly tuning.

Think about the hobbies that you personally enjoy. Most of them aren't free even the ones that seem free like hiking. You do need a good pair of boots to hike. What about water and energy bars? Start writing about your hobby. When it becomes apparent to your audience that you know what you are talking about, people will purchase the products that you recommend.

If you aren't an expert in an area or don't have hobbies that you are passionate about, don't fret. You still can make money through niche marketing. It will just take a little research. Use a tool such as the Micro Niche Finder Software program. It will let you know what industries are in favor and the most popular products to target. You can look up the keywords that you will need to market that product as well. You won't be an expert, but with a little effort and some research, you will know more than you thought you ever could about a topic and have the tools to make money from the niche.
