Top Tech Deal Sites and Resources

Surverys have shown that with the price of gas rising, more people are cutting their technology budgets to focus on daily necessities. The truth is you do not to! There is a difference between shopping around and buying the first toy you see at Walmart.

A lot of People have been taking advantage of tech deals for a while now but not enough people actually do it. The key with tech deals is to catch the right items at the right time. For instance, sites such as Amazon and Buy.com, do offer daily and weekly discounts on numerous items but if you are not paying attention, there is a good chance that you will not get the chance to take advantage of them.

Here are a few ways you can find the best tech deals at the right time:

  • Newsletters: Most sites come with newsletters. You can sign up for best deals alert on Buy.com and other sites. Do keep in mind that some of these deals are not real deals, so you will have to shop those around.
  • RSS Feed: Amazon and eBay are famous for having RSS feeds available for every category. For instance, you can catch Amazon's Hot Sellers with your FireFox or Flock.
  • Tech Deal Sites: Just like any other area, bloggers and entrepreneurs have targeted the tech deals market to do the hard work for you. Tech deal sites aggregate tech deals from around the net so you won't have to. It might not work out for the best as you may not get the deals that you are looking for but it is useful to keep an eye on these sites (you can do so by using the Google Reader service). Check out slickdeals.com, dealigg.com, dailyfind.net, and macdeals.
  • Weekly Ads: Shopping sites run multiple promotions every single week. But they don't want to hide them, so they provide links to their weekly specials on their websites. Make sure you sign up for those as well.
  • Portals: Finally, you should check out shopping portals such as PriceGrabber and PriceWatch to see if you are getting the best price possible. In general, if you can verify that fact with these portals, there is a 95% chance that you are getting the absolute best price (5% of the time there is an offline store or a promotion that is not reflected on these portals).

Gas prices may go higher. We may even experience more inflation in the future. But that shouldn't make you cut back on your gadgets. By shopping smart you can get all the gadgets that you would usually buy and save money in the process.
