If you are like me, I often find I need to find someones email address because I have lost it. It is time consuming and irritating when you lose the email address of a business contact or family member.
I have taken to physically writing the really important email addresses down on paper - ya, with a pen. I know thhis is OBVIOUS however it is surprising how many people don't do it. I began writing down my important email addresses only AFTER having my email reader crash; and to further the problem; I had saved the list of email addresses in a text file too -- but once the blue screen of death is upon you -- unless you are lucky and a tech can retrieve your info (which I was not so fortunate) - those email addresses are GONE.
I was desperate to find my own Brother's email address (he is in GUAM) so I typed into Google "find email addresses" and after weeding through piles of linkage - I found the email address by using this site:

Since then, I have used that site more than a time or two simply as it is really convenient - especially if you are looking FOR an email address you never had.
I was trying last week to report a spammer who simply would NOT leave my email address alone; spamming me relentlessly, get this, with MY OWN EMAIL ADDRESS!!! Yes, he was spoofing it and I was getting blacklisted for doing Nothing!
He (turned out to be a he) had his IP/website information blocked out as is so common these days. One thing they can't block though is their service provider.

Good info. Agree it is a real pain in the b.. when the computer dies or the email provider for some reason says its full and wants your password even though it is in there.
I just delete it and reload the program. But like you said you have to keep them, I copy and paste them into excel. That way I still have a copy on my computer and then burn to a disk.
Elieen, burning to disk or CD is a great way to make sure you don't lose your
email addresses. They are nearly more important than phone numbers now a
days.
But how does deleting and reloading the *program* help you? I am unclear on
that part.

Interesting hub, I might be using it, I've been looking for an email address since I was in grade 9. I used to be email pen-pals with a girl in Japan, and my email address died(The server went offline indefinitely). Not long after, hers also stopped working. Being a Japanese girl, she probably has another email address by now, but of course, we've had no contact since then. Hopefully we can get back in touch (And I won't scare her too much by contacting her out of the blue)
