Freelancing as a garden writer means more often than not, writing for free. I once wrote for a local paper (Free.) I will gather chips for later jobs. Once I wrote about fertilizing your lawn only twice a year. I also had written a trade paper on the subject and gotten paid for it. The local lawn care companies who fertilized lawn 4,5, or even 6 times a year complained to the paper and I was out.

If you read garden articles, you might see that the author is selling something and not sharing information.

Good Luck

Oh by the way, the GWA are good people.
