There are plenty of reasons to want to find out information about the cell phone or landline phone number that is calling you.  Fortunately these days, they're are a number of online services that make getting that kind of information simple easy and cheap.  There are database directories that contain information like address, location, age, name and other personal information tied directly to a the phone number.  Gone are the days of being stuck with only the white pages or yellow pages to get information about your callers.

I've included a few helpful tips, that should save you some time, when working with these telephone directories.

While most of these services are paid services, you should be able to see a portion of the phone number information with paying.  By entering in a phone number, you should at least be able to see some general information, like country, state, city and possibly even zip code.  There's then usually a paid option, if you want more detailed information about your caller, like, name, age, street address etc.

Do be wary of any promised free reverse cell phone lookups.  Cell phone lookups are not possible to do for free, since the information about who owns the cell numbers is owned by the wireless cell phone company that sells the phones.  And God knows, that those companies don't give away anything for free.  They do sell the information to third parties, but any third part company offering this information for free, would quickly go out of business.  Also, keep in mind that it is possible to buy a pre-paid cell phone, without giving up any personal information.  In this case, no directory in the world can give you information that isn't there.

As usual, check to see what kind of guarantee the phone database lookup company offers.  If there's no guarantee, then I'd move on the the next one.  There's plenty of them out there.  Any company that offers a good guarantee, knows they are opening themselves up to abuse, but it also says they have a lot of confidence in the information the are providing.  While some people will take advantage of them, for the most part people are honest, and pay for what they get.
