You may have come across many download portals for Zune music videos and may have been scammed by sites claiming to provide free downloads. Or you may have spent hundreds of dollars buying Zune music videos and other media from paid sites and are feeling ripped off. We will classify these download portal by the way they charge, free, pay-per-download, pay-per-subscription and look at the pros and cons of each.

Free download sites promises entertainment at no cost to the users. All you have to do is download the Zune music videos for example, upload it to the device and enjoy. However, one needs to exercise caution when using these sites. Many of these sites are filled with media files that are either corrupted or contain viruses, Trojan horses and spywares. Be prepared for the frustration of not being able to play your Zune music videos after one hour of download. It happens all the time. But that’s not the worse scenario, users run the risk of downloading malicious content into their computers and Zune device. It may affect the operation of users’ PC and Zune device or cause confidential information stored on the PC to be stolen by hackers. All these are the risks that one must take. There really is no such thing as a free lunch.

While there are good sites that actually provide quality downloads, the selections and download speeds are limited due to high maintenance costs required to storage space and high bandwidth required for accessing large media files.

Pay-per-download sites offer good selection of Zune music videos if not the best. These sites are well-maintained to ensure that users get the best experience in terms of download speed. All the files can be assumed to be 99.99% free from malicious codes so as to protect users and maintain the site’s reputation. The only and major drawback is the financial baggage that comes with it. One piece of music costs around $0.99. Zune music videos will costs a bit more. Multiply that by the amount of music you listened to or number of movies you watched for the past one year, it will far exceed the cost of the device itself. I don’t know about you but that does not really go well with me.

Subscription-based download portals are able to provide what the pay-per-download sites offer, only cheaper. These sites charges a one-time membership that entitles users to unlimited amount of download during the period subscribed. Lifetime membership is sometimes available at a cost no more than $40. If you are worried about download speed, some portal features a unique download system whereby the more users are downloading at the same time, the higher the speed.

I am a webmaster and movie lover. Read my review on a download portal that charges a one-time fee and features a huge collection of Zune music videos with a large user base of 20 million here.
