A reward of £1.5m for the safe return of Madeleine McCann has been announced by the News Of The World newspaper - bringing the total to £2.5m.
The cash is the biggest ever newspaper reward
Businessmen Sir Richard Branson and Sir Philip Green are among those offering the cash.
The reward is for information directly resulting in the safe return of the four-year-old who was abducted in Portugal nine days ago.
Showbusiness personalities and leading business figures, including BHS boss Sir Philip Green, Bill Kenwright and Sir Richard Branson, have joined together in an unprecedented show of support for the family.
Madeleine's father, Gerry McCann said: "Anything that can be done to publicise that Madeleine is missing and help with the search is very welcome."
Portuguese police have also endorsed the reward offer.
It comes after British businessman Stephen Winyard offered a £1m reward earlier this week.
The co-operation of the backers means this is biggest reward ever offered in a newspaper.
Pledges are still pouring into the reward fund - which will be paid out for the crucial piece of information that leads police to Madeleine.
Sir Philip Green, who matched the News of the World's £250,000 contribution, said: "My wife Tina and I have children, and anything we can do to help to bring this beautiful little girl back we will of course do without hesitation.
"We are praying for Madeleine's safe return and can't imagine what Kate and Gerry are going through at the moment.
Madeleine was snatched from her parents' Portuguese holiday apartment in the Algarve village of Praia da Luz on Thursday May 3.

The man who was being questioned about the disapearance about maddlyine Mc.cann. says that he has a daughter that looks like maddyline. why has no one seen his daughter,could it be maddyline, and why has this not been brought more to the media attention, maddyline could have been taken out of porchigul as his daughter, whyhas this not been investigated,if his child looks like maddyline and is the same age, a passport could have been obtained to take her out of porchigal.

Can't believe 3 children were left alone especially by 2 so called professional people however my heart goes out to Madeline and i hope to god she is safe. All our love, Nikki and my 6 month old Daughter Katie.

One day a man had a dream.he dreamed he was walking along the beach with the lord.Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scenehe noticed two sets of foorprintsin the sand ,one belohing to him and the other to the. When the last scene had flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints and noticed that many times along the path ther was only one set of footprints in the sand.He also noted that this happened at the lowest and saddest times in his life. That really bothered him and he questioned the lord. I don't think enough is being done, I live in south spain and down loaded the posters and took them to the two nearest ports that go to Morocco no one who worked their new about her not even the police. I put lots of the posters up but I feel their was no interest their considering the ports are only four hours away from were she was taken and very easy to go through as I have been their with my own children I think their should have been some sort of alert put at these points.My hart goes out to that little girl.

How very sad that a young and innocent child should be taken from her bed, leaving such a void in the life of her family. Such unspeakable evil. Anyone with children of their own will have some idea of the pain and toture the McCann family will be going through. My prayers are with them at this sad time. However, poignently this misfortune leaves me wondering about all other missing children. How other parents must feel knowing that one family has been given so much attention, even from politicians, high profile business people, celebrities and professionals. Yesterday on the news there was a brief mention of an 11 years girl missing in the UK. Today it has not been given airtime. Has she been found?
My prayer is that this high profile case will generate a desire in the hearts of all agencies and people across the world to give as much care and attention to all missing children. So precious are all these young lives regardless of their social, racial, intellectual and individual differences. I believe the media has a role to play in being credible, just and fair in all their undertakings. They should not be biased towards those storylines that they identify most with. God Bless

I have been trying to get ahold of someone on the crimestoppers hotline, and that number doesn't seem to work in the states. I have e-mailed three different sites, both while I was on holiday in Europe, and then since I have been home. What if it was in fact her that I saw on the eurotrain last week, but I just can't get anyone to respond, or pay attention! I will be attending Holy Name church fazakerley on Sunday this is the church the Little maddy Christening took place. My heart goes out to her parents and all the family at this time. I wqork with mentally ill offenders and I know to some extent that they will be too frightened to come forward yet will be relieved when this is resolved.

Nobody should be made to suffer in this way, and lets face it as parents we have all done silly things but have been lucky not to have ended up like Gary and Kate. They have enough to worry about without people critisizing them. I pray every day that they get thier Darling daughter back soon, and that dear Maddy is safe.
I have prayed from the beginning and shall continue to do so. Rothley has become a special place with a lot of love there for madaleine. I felt especially drawn to the landlady of the pub who has been at the centre of the wonderful memorial square where there are hundreds of yellow ribbons all tied on with love. Posters and teddy bears amongst many. This wonderful lady has supplied the ribbons and has shown tremendous strength just like the mcCanns, every day she has to look out of her window and see the endless reporters and people. While dealing with her own sadness she always has a smile. May god bless her.
My family and i are jetting out to Spain for a few weeks to look for her. God help who has her if we see them. We will need a campain to get us out of jail. Keep praying and keep on the look out. Well Kate & gerry, and of course dear little maddie, I'm back now from looking after my Dad in Spain, and I had my eyes peeled the whole time, when I saw a little girl around your age Maddie, and in a way I prayed that I may have seen you darling. I have my 5yr old grandaughter with me today, and I look at her and think of how scared she would be if this awful thing happened to her, and it makes my stomache turn to think that some piece of S---t could be so evil. It makes my blood boil to think if this Bast---d is caught, that he will not suffer like the poor Mccanns are, as he will get fed & watered, a bed & no doubt protection. Have the Portuges police traced who used the McCanns hired car on the 3rd May, or anytime between 3rd May to the time the McCanns hired the same car 25 days later??? as that could lead to who snatched Maddy. Just to let you know that we are praying for you and your family and hoping that little Madeline arrives back to you safely. I will keep little Madeleine McCann in my prayers everyday! I know this may sound alittle crazy but have the police or parents thought about the possibility of a Psychic being brought in to give the police help? I was Holidaying in Faro on Sat 12th May when I had a strange dream that was so vivid I havenot been able to forget it and would not forgive myself for not telling you, I know this could be triggered by the publicity in the media but this has happened to me befor and I feel I need to tell you; In my dream I saw the mans face, (This was befor any photos of suspects had been released) He was dark, unshaven with piecing eyes.. I then saw Madaline in the very bottom of a boat, she was either asleep or drugged. This was all veryquick, like a flash, but very clear and has stook in my mind. I hope you dont think i'm mad.(I have been encouraged by family and friends to contact you as they said anything could be a help) We are all thinking of Madaline and her family.
Please let this sweetheart go home to her mummy & daddy. No parents deserve to go through this hell, and theres no manual for parenting. Please god she is found soon safe & sound. I have been praying for Madeliene and her family, such an awful thing to happen. I am a grandmother with grandchildren of the same age. I had a flash of a dream that she was in a room with lots of other children her size and they all were wearing the burka (full black head to toe clothes) with only their eyes showing. The room had fancy windows and was covered in creamish tiles with coloured ones around the windows and edges of the room. It was a foreign place (not english) I had the impression that it was similar to a harem, and that the burkas were either being worn or that the children were hidden in a religious area or of that religion. I DO NOT want to worry or detract from the ivestigation, but as a previous person wrote, any information could help, I hope this does. My prayers and love go with you all, I also have a prayer group who pray constantly.
