One great place to find home gym equipment at a cheap price is to look on eBay.  eBay is an online auction site for those who don't know (who doesn't know what eBay is?).  It allows people and companies to sell stuff in an auction format, which allows people to get stuff at a better price.  Sometimes people end up spending more money because of the auction style for hard-to-find items, but most exercise equipment can be had for a fantastic price.

One thing to make sure that you look out for is what the shipping price is.  Because exercise equipment can be extremely heavy, the price of shipping may not make the home gym exercise equipment that you can find on eBay not worth it, because the shipping price makes it even more expensive.

Another thing you want to look at is the exact description of the product.  A lot of times people sell broken stuff on eBay because they don't know how to fix it themselves but they know that other people may know how to fix the stuff so they sell broken stuff on eBay for a cheaper price usually, in order to get rid of stuff and maybe make a few bucks on it.  So, make sure you read the description of the product to make sure it's not broken (unless you know how to fix whatever piece of exercise equipment it is that you get).

Lastly, check the feedback of the seller and make sure they have good feedback.  There are some people online who want to screw other people over and take money from people, so make sure that you limit your risk by only dealing with a reputable person who has good feedback from many customers.

Another great place to look online is Craigslist, which is a website that acts like the classified abs section of your newspaper, allowing people to post stuff that they have for sale.  You'll usually find used fitness equipment in the "fitness" section of the Craigslist "Stuff for Sale" section.

When looking on Craigslist, make sure you are able and willing to go pick up the item, because most people who sell on Craigslist will expect you to come pick it up and haul it away.  If you are getting a treadmill or another large piece of home gym equipment, then make sure you have a truck, or maybe a friend with a truck, so that you can haul it away. 

Some people will try to scam you on Craigslist, and so you need to be careful.  Craigslist has a section on their website that details how to spot scams on their website.  They try their best to eliminate the chances of scams but they can't be perfect about it.

There are many great places to get cheap home gym equipment, but eBay and Craigslist are definitely two of the best options that you have.  Just make sure that you protect yourself by following the tips above and you can find great deals for the right pieces of equipment to fit in your home gym.
