Finding Love On The Internet
53Love Connection
After a bitter divorce, and four year's of remaining single, I joined an online dating site. Nervous at first, but after a short amount of time started to enjoy chatting with single men within my zip code. I met a few over a cup of coffee, ( always in a very public place, and never giving out any personal information, phone number, address, or place of employment.) Family, friends, and co-workers all thought I was out of my mind. My married daughter worried that I would meet someone that would rape, kill, and leave me in a ditch somewhere.
A few month's went by, and then one evening I received a very nice note from a gentleman outside of my zip code, about 30 miles. I went to his profile for more information about him, and liked what I read. However he had not posted a picture of himself. But setting this aside I responded to his message. This started messages going back and forth every day. And I started looking forward for my 12 hour shift to end at the hospital, and getting home to check for the next message from him. We chatted, and emailed for three month's. At a point trusting enough to exchange phone numbers, we then talked on the phone every day. We found a lot in common, and laughed a lot. When asked for a picture, he did post one at last, a good looking man, with a nice smile.
Four month's pass, and we decided it's time to meet. He wants to pick me up, and go for a drive. Hmmmmm.....against my online dating rules. But after all we had been talking for 4 month's so I agreed. However my daughter did not like the idea, and put stipulations on the date. We were to meet at her home, she wanted a copy of his drivers license, his cell & home phone numbers, and the tag number off his SUV. He had no problem with this, and gave her all the information.
Making a long story short, that date led to marriage, and 9 year's of happiness so far. This man is the love of my life, next to my children & grandchildren.
It is ok for someone to look for love on the internet. Just set safe dating rules, and live by them.

advisor, it took me 4 year's after my divorce to decide I wanted a man in my life again. I am glad today that I put the past behind me, got over it, and on with it. I just bet one day you to will be able to do the same.

I am a little scared of meeting strange men when it comes to dating after all of the bad experiences I have had. But it is always nice to hear of someone who had good luck in love. It keeps my hopes up that I will meet Mr. Right some day. Thanks!
