my world on A New Earth...
my world on A New Earth...

In trying to be what I thought I was supposed to be to become a world-renowned expert in love and romance, I’ve engaged my ego and jumped into ego hyper-drive.

The following few sentences by Eckhart Tolle, rocked my world.

If you are content with being nobody in particular, content not to stand out, you align yourself with the power of the universe. What looks like weakness to the ego is in fact the only true strength. This spiritual truth is diametrically opposed to the values of our contemporary culture and the way it conditions people to behave.”

In my self description as The True Love Coach, I say I am an ordinary woman who found extraordinary love. If I can do it, so can you. I truly mean these words, but as I’ve started to market myself as The True Love Coach, I’ve felt small and incompetent. I felt being ordinary was a liability and I have been searching for what makes me different, what makes me so special that other people would trust me to help them find total true love.

Can you see the inner conflict?

At a life success conference a few years back, I stood up in front of everyone and claimed that I was a world renowned expert on love and romance. Everyone clapped, a few chuckled, I had claimed my place, I’d declared it to the Universe, and it is so.

NOT!

In searching for the specialness I thought I needed to succeed, I’ve continually come to the conclusion that I am just ordinary. I did not want to do the things that our contemporary culture seems to mandate that I do to be successful, ie make a lot of money. Because of this, I have in many ways crawled into a hole so I won’t be judged. Being judged, by the way, is a huge trigger point for me.

My greatest strength is that I am an ordinary woman. My greatest fear is that I am only an ordinary woman. Using Tolle’s perspective of “What looks like weakness to the ego is in fact the only true strength” I’m going to approach my business of being The True Love Coach as that ordinary woman who has an incredible story and product/process to share with other ordinary woman who have had trouble finding true love.

It’s going to be interesting to see what happens as I walk into a new world as an ordinary woman who has computers as friends (part 8) and loves the internet. (part 6).

Has "A New Earth" had an impact on me?

What impact has it had on you? Share your story with this ordinary woman. Or any words of advice.
