Know where your vet is

We all hope that this does not happen but chances are that it will be it for a good reason or a bad reason but the trip to the vet is something that you should prepare for if you own a Guinea Pig.

Now the tough part of this equation depending on where you live is finding a vet that treats small animals.

Since just like regular doctors having specialties vets do also.

There are vets for large animals (horses etc) small animals (dogs and cats) and even smaller animals (Guinea Pigs)

Now just because your local vet knows how to treat dogs and cats do not assume that they will be able to assist you with your Guinea Pig.

In most larger cities there are specialty clinics for smaller animals.

But what if you do not live in a city that has one?

Well the best thing to do is some research.

Call your local vet and ask them if they treat Guinea Pigs and if they don't can they recommend someone or somewhere that does.

You may if you are so inclined use your computer to search for vets that assist smaller animals.

Bottom line know where they are just in case an emergency arises.
