An acne facial wash is not meant to be the sole medication you use to treat your acne. Rather, its is the first step of a two step process. First you wash your face with the facial wash for acne to make sure that your skin is not irritated. Then you apply the medication, which will help reduce your acne. When you are using one of the acne facial washes make sure that you only use your hands when using wash and that you not dry your kin with a rubbing motion of the towel.

When getting a facial wash keep in mind that its purpose is not to treat acne, but to cleanse you skin. The cleaner your skin is the less chance there is that your pores will clog up, eventually leading to more acne breakouts. The cleaner your skin is, the easier it is for the medications to go into your skin and do their job.

There are acne facial washes out there, which contain medication found in effective acne creams. A facial wash may consist of a concentration of either salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, each of which are ingredients found in acne creams. It is recommended that when you shop for an acne facial wash that you find one which is gentle. In other words, you want one whose sole job is to cleanse your skin and not leave you with two medicated solutions on your skin once you apply the medicated acne cream.

Can there be a best acne facial wash? If you browse user reviews at sites like Amazon you’ll see enough user comments to help you make a decision. There is no such thing as a “best” acne facial wash because they all have similar ingredients. Furthermore, what may work for one person’s skin may not work for another person’s skin. On Amazon.com I noticed that “Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Cleanser Super Size (contains salicylic acid, but still gentle enough)” as well as the “BELLI Acne Clearing Facial Wash (made for acne after pregnancy but can be used even if you aren’t pregnant)” were good buys.
