Fine Dining in Orlando
55
It may seem an odd juxtaposition, to think that fine dining can be found in Orlando. Orlando is, after all, home of one of the most loved – yet widely accepted to be tacky – places on earth; the Walt Disney theme park, Disneyland. One would almost expect that with such a connection with a famous mouse and seemingly endless children's entertainment, all of Orlando would dedicate itself to clean family fun and those in search of a true fine dining experience would have to travel far from the catchment area of Mickey before such an establishment could be found.
While there is an absolute truth that Orlando is seemingly Disney crazy, this Florida city has not forgotten that not everyone is entranced by a world of magic and fairy tales. Disneyland is one small annex of this city; and this is a city that existed long before SpaceMountain and friends came along. In fact, fine dining in Orlando is remarkably easy to find if one knows where to look.
Of course, Orlando cannot escape its associations and like most American cities is full of all American grills and diners, as well as plenty of fast food eateries. It can be easy to assume the city is devoid of anything beyond these kinds of eating experiences, which though they play a role, are not exactly ideal for those who appreciate the finer things in life. It can be phenomenally rewarding for tired parents, exhausted from a day with the kids at Disneyland, to enjoy a little alone time in one of these fine dining restaurants of Orlando without the constant pressure to have fun and keep their kids entertained.
It would seem that whatever dining experience you wish for in Orlando can be provided. Cuisine from all seven continents, from classic Italian food to elaborate Japanese sushi and sashimi dishes. Whatever your taste, whatever your flavor, whatever your preferred nationality of food – one can find it. It may seem such availability only comes for the fast food or takeaway market, but in a city as large as Orlando it is possible to find high end, fine dining that comes in a vast array of sizes, shapes, textures and influences. The majority of the restaurants are proper, formal sit down tablecloth restaurants which specialize in a waiter service to cater to your every whim.
The examples are seemingly endless, but as a brief idea of the scope of Orlando, consider this: Website TripAdvisor.com rates all of the restaurants in Orlando. Of the top ten users rated websites, the variety of food on offer includes; American, British traditional, Irish, French, Canadian steakhouse blends, Asian, Thai, seafood, sushi, a salad bar and African. Considering the website goes on to list over 1,000 restaurants within Orlando itself; finding a wonderful establishment serving fine cuisine that suits your needs and taste buds should be remarkably simple. Favorites include Christini's, which serves Italian, and the American and French serving Victoria & Albert.
