I was watching Animal Planet and I saw an amazing sight. A horse named Cholla (pronounced Choya) that paints!

The horse was watching his owner paint the fence around him and got interested. So the owner gave him a brush, set up an easel- and some water colors and let him go.

Now this horse, and his art has been invited to show his works in major art shows in New York and Italy!

How cute! Whatever. A horse, with plenty of free time, a patient owner and a paint brush- gets- at the minimum $2500 per painting!

(what?) That's right. $2500 a pop for some abstract watercolors painted by a horse. Is it the novelty of knowing a horse moved the brush on the page?

it must be... I suppose that if I were so inclined I could probably do the same kind of stuff... however I doubt if I could get invited to Italy for it...!

Wouldn't it be nice if some of these art mavens would take some of that money and make a real investment, into our public schools and community colleges... and help some aspiring two-legged artists get some work done!

Just a thought from an artist...(writing is one of the fine arts, you know.)
