We've been trying to get to Firefly for weeks, and we finally got to enjoy their food tonight. The service was outstanding. They were attentive and brought fresh bread and service pieces frequently. The food was a delight to the palate. Our appetizers were the white corn and pasilla pepper chowder with polenta croutons, and the salad with bleu cheese buttermilk dressing and avocado and croutons. Both were absolutely delicious. Our table had the grilled pork rib chop with spicy porter jus, bacon , grilled corn off the cob, and creamy grits that was cooked to perfection; the roasted alaskan halibut over crispy Rosti pototoes gribiche sauce and warm grilled salad was delicious too. The grilled rare tombo tuna with risotto cake over a bed of puree peas and kumquat walnut relish was the least favorite.

The ambiance of the restaurant was very cosy and warm. It's located on 24th at Douglass. 415. 821.7652 Reservations are a must. Sunday through Thursday they have a prix fix menu for $34 that I'd like to try. We will definitely go back. Visit the website for a more complete menu, their story and recipes. http://www.fireflyrestaurant.com/

oh, oh, how we love Firefly. We don't get out without the littles too often, but this is one place we go to repeatedly in a city with a bazillion restaurants. Such nice people and such great food. Thanks for sharing it.
