Firefox 3.0 Beta 5 faster on Mac OS X than Safari 3.1
57
ZDNet tests show the new Firefox 3.0 Beta 5 version is the fastest web browser in the world. In Mac OS X, the Firefox 3.0 Beta 5 is faster than Apple’s Safari 3.1.
Mozilla recently upgraded its previous beta version to Beta 5 version and initial tests showed they are faster than all the previous versions of Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera and other browsers.
ZDnet used the SunSpider JavaScript benchmark test and shows that Firefox 3.0 Beta 5 holds a 7% lead over Safari 3.1 browser.
I haven’t tried Firefox 3.0 Beta 5 version, I am waiting for a few Firefox extensions to become available to use along with it. I also use Safari 3.1, which is also very fast.
You can download these browsers here:
2. Safari 3.1
Firefox has many extensions that makes it far better than other products, but if you just want standalone browsers, you can use either of the two, they are very fast and efficient. Firefox 3.0 with extensions may slow down the speed a little but still it is very powerful to use.
If you are using Internet Explorer, you can also use Internet Explorer within Firefox (no need of two browsers) with this IE View extension. Some pages are customized only for Internet Explorer and you can view them with IE View extension. After you install it, restart the browser and go to the webpage you want to see in Internet Explore and right click the mouse and click “View Page in IE Tab”.

Thanks Zsuzy, what browser do you use? Firefox 3.0 is faster and occupies less memory, so your computer won't crash like the previous versions and Internet Explorer.
