Firefox Setup for Internet Marketing
66Since I became involved in marketing on the internet, I have found the Firefox browser to be an extremely useful tool. I consider my Firefox browser to be the starting point of my internet marketing experience.
What's So Great About the Firefox Browser
First, I have to admit, I'm still running Windows XP on my PC. I've never used Windows Vista, so I can only compare the Firefox browser to Internet Explorer running on XP. I'm sure that Microsoft has improved the functionality of Internet Explorer to run on Vista, but I've not looked at that, yet. Since I'm already running the Firefox browser, I don't feel a strong need to change to something different. It would be a hard sell to get me to believe that there is a better experience for browsing than Firefox.
Firefox Browser Tabs
The initial "huge benefit" that I noticed when changing over to Firefox, didn't begin as a benefit. It was something that took me some time to get used to.
I used to keep several IE browser windows open with various web pages open. I switched from page to page as id worked on the internet.
When switching between multiple pages on Firefox, you only have to use one browser window. All the pages are on separate tabs within that window. It took me several weeks of using the Firefox browser to grow accustomed to the open tab method, rather than opening several windows. After using it for several months, I could never go back.Extensions
With the Firefox browser, you can download extensions that become part of your browser which enhance the usefulness of the browser. To my knowledge, the extensions are all open source, like Firefox. I haven't, yet, come across an extension that I had to pay for.
Here's a brief list of my favorite Firefox extensions
- Session Manager
The first thing I ever do when I open my browser is go to Session Manager and select a session from those that I've saved. A session is the tabbed group of websites that you want to use. I have several sessions saved for a variety of different pu - Del.icio.us buttons
This extension puts two buttons on your toolbar that allow you to tag a site into your del.icio.us directory and to access saved items in del.icio.us. - Cooliris Previews
With Cooliris, you can preview a site without ever clicking on the link. When you mouseover a link, an icon appears. Mousing over that icon brings up a preview window of that site. The previews can be bookmarked, emailed, or you're given a variety - Search Status
Displays Google PageRank, Alexa rank and other SEO tools. - StumbleUpon
This extension comes in the form of a tool bar that allows you to quickly and easily stumble sites, vote them up or down, tag them, send them, and read reviews. If you use StumbleUpon at all, this extension is a "must have". - Twitterbar
Allows you to post to Twitter directly from your address bar.

Firefox does great job nice hub dude
Great info!
Thank you all for your kind words.
I just found another extension that I really like and am using now. It's called Flashblock. Flashblock keeps all flash content from loading when you enter a website. Instead, it puts a clickable icon in its place that allows you to view the flash content if you choose.
This helps pages to load quicker. I see the icon regularly so I know that in the past, I have been loading a lot of flash content that I don't care to see.

I haven't paid close attention to what type of files I open with these tools, but it seems that I've looked at pdf's before.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'll post back here later if I find a site with a pdf link and can verify.
Here's a link to a hub I wrote about another Firefox Extension. This is quickly becoming very high on my favorites list.
