First things First - Prayer
73Prayer: Key to the Day
"Prayer is the lock of the night and the key of the day." -- Thomas Fuller
As soon as you wake up, what is the first thing you ought to do? If you don't mind or care how you live your life, how your day should begin and end, how successful or worthless your life should be, then you could do anything else. But if you are really serious about your life, about values of life and you have an ideal for yourself, then you need the key to unlock the day for you - Pray. Through prayer, commit the day into the hands of the Lord and commit yourself into His divine care, you are sure to succeed in whatever you do.
Lord Jesus Prayed Early in the Morning
For the Son of God, prayer was the first thing in the day - to commune with His Heavenly Father and get the direction and strength from above. He went on to teach His disciples about the importance of prayer, saying, "Watch and pray, lest you fall into temptations."
Today, you may be struggling to overcome temptations, or your own evil thoughts. You can be a winner through the power of prayer.
Read the Holy Word in the Morning
Prayer added with reading the Bible is an amazing weapon in your hands in this battle of life. Just reading and meditating the Bible in the first hour of your day can make you extraordinarily wise and brilliant in every area of your life. A mediocre person with below average grades can test this easily, by just spending the first hour of the day at the feet of God, reading and meditating His word. The Bible becomes alive and God reveals Himself clearly in that fresh mind of yours, and you will find success in every walk of your life. I am a living example to this practice.
Today, I am a very much sought-for person for my technical capabilities in computers. But my earlier days were dull and gloomy, a below average student, a third class graduate (it took me 5 years to graduate). God's Word made me sharp enough to stand out from among all my peers. Slowly as 'reading the Word in the first hour of my day' became my habit, I was appreciated by everyone in whatever I did. My attempts were never futile after that. Today, I can say, I am wiser than most people my age, because the Word of God has moulded my mind and character. Glory be to the Lord Almighty!
Don't Miss the 4 o'clock Train
Once a missionary lady who had the habit of praying early morning, happened to be too tired and thought to stay in bed for a little while more. Soon she went back to sleep again, but had a dream. In her dream, she found herself rushing for a train that was to depart at 4 o'clock in the morning and exactly the moment she stepped into the platform, the train moved out. She felt lost and hopeless, but asked someone when the next train would come. She was informed that the next train was only at 6 o'clock. She waited long hours and as time went past, she could find the area getting crowded with unfriendly people, evil-minded and disturbing her even by their looks. Finally, the 6 o'clock train arrived and she rushed in to take a place in the compartment. She waited and waited for the train to move, but it never moved. All she could find was weird, evil, ghost faces all around her, stinking and nauseating, feeling miserable... and she screamed and she woke from her dream. She immediately looked at the clock and it was past 6 o'clock. Then she made the firm decision that she will never miss the 4 o'clock train ever again.
When you give God the first place in your life, He will make the rest of your life really worth living. God bless!

Thanks joerose for posting this page for my Request..
I've found that praying in the morning for and also in the evening, not simply talking but also listening, reading, meditating just "being with" God makes all the difference not only in my life, but the people around me.
Nicely done, and thanks for the reminder, you're absolutely correct!

Well said! This is something I still struggle with...I often get out of bed and rush off to work without prayer only to find that I left God behind when things start to go wrong.
Thanks for the hub!
