Fishing Bait
72If you have ever been to a fishing bait store or if you have ever gone out fishing yourself then you probably have noticed that there are many different kinds of fishing bait out there. Choosing the right kind of fishing bait is very important and it could mean the difference between you catching a fish and you not catching anything at all.
I am going to list the top three kinds of fishing baits that seem to work the best on generic fish. These types of baits have been tested and proven to work the best all around. If you are trying to find out what type of bait works best for catching a certain type of fish, then these three are probably a good way to start off your search with.
Keep in mind that there many other types of fishing baits as well. Some examples of other types of fishing bait are carp fishing bait, and sea fishing bait.
Powerbait
Powerbait is a great type of lure that anyone can use. It works best on stocked fish at farms but it works just as good on natural fish in the water. In most cases the fish cannot tell the difference between powerbait and real live bait. This is what makes it such a powerful type of lure.
Nowadays these types of lure have scents on them as well to make them seem more lifelike. They also come in a wide variety and range of colors to experiment with. These lures work very well when using a bottom rig because of the fact that they float.
For choosing a color that is right, you are going to have to experiment every single time you go out. No one color works best and usually it changes daily.
Powerbait by far works the best out of all the type of
fishing bait that there is out there. It is very common for boat fishing and shore fishing bait.
Fishing Bait
Worms
Worms work best when you happen to be fishing for trout. They work very well in streams and rivers. Just add these on your hook and let them float through the water.
There are two different kinds of worms that you can choose from. The two types of worms are live bait and synthetic baits. Both of them work very well and the synthetic models are getting better all the time. Live bait has a slight advantage over plastic but none the less it will still get the job done.
If you are using worms consider slapping on a gang hook which is a deadly and lethal combination. The fish won’t be able to stand a chance against you if you do this.
Spinners
Spinners work best when fishing for Bass, Walleye, Trout and Pike. In fact they pretty much work well in all conditions. They are usually used in lakes and rivers. From my experience I have found that small spinners usually perform better then the large ones, you really only need the large ones if you are fishing for fish that are a little on the larger side.
Color is determined through trial and error just like the powerbaits. A popular brand of spinners that you might want to consider trying out is Rooster Tails
Next time you go fishing and are stuck on what lure to use, try out some of these recommendations. Then you can get a basis to work from and an idea on what will work and what will not. Every fishing hold is different and will perform accordingly to what kind of fish habit that lake or area. No two fishing places are the same.
The important thing to remember is that every day is going to be different. You are never going to know what works best if you do not experiment with your fishing.
Here is a video about the different types of fish bait that you can use.
