Sweat, due to the climatic conditions and dirt, due to the atmospheric pollution around us accumulate on a person’s body, especially on the face. From the point of view of outward appearance as well from the clean body maintenance angle, a good wash is absolutely necessary. Splashing cold water is the natural way for that. Besides, there are some other easy and useful tips to have a good and soft skin, as given below.
The basic ingredients of any soap are fatty acids and salt. These cause the soap to be harsh on the skin, which makes the skin very dry. Soap-based face washes and cleansers cause the surface oil and oil within the pores to harden and the result is not pleasing. So, one should consult a Dermatologist to prescribe a soap suitable to skin conditions and also which acts as moisturisers also. Though any soap may be used for the body, a suitable soap has to be chosen for face wash.
People with sensitive skin should use only a glycerine-based soap, without any chemicals, at all.
People with oily skin should dab the face with tissue to absorb the oil or dab it with compact powder of a suitable quality and wash it thereafter. Always keep away fried foods, wafers, chips, chocolates and soft drinks. Not less than 8 glasses water a day is a must. Cucumber juice and lemon juice in equal quantities may be applied (without honey) and washed off after it is dried. If the application is to be kept throughout the night, lemon juice should not be mixed. . Clay based back are suitable for oily skins.
People with dry skin, should keep the skin soap-free and use a face wash. Apply cucumber juice daily (avoid mixing it with lemon juice), better smash a couple of slices on the skin. Splash the face with cold or lukewarm water (never hot water) as it would increase blood circulation and its flow to the face. Apply egg to the face (or day old malai or day old curd or honey) as it will nourish and moisturise the skin. Wash after 10/15 minutes. Cream based face packs are suitable for dry skin.
Those with normal skin can use a mild soap.
It is not advisable to apply soap or face wash more than two times a day. Alternatively, they may keep splashing water on their face. The anti-bacterial soaps available in the market erode the residence flora bacteria from the skin. In summers, one may go for an exfoliating face wash as it removes excess oil and provides deep cleansing. However, combined application of cream and toner will yield optimum results.
Face packs are good remedy to drive away the fatigue and drowsiness and make one feel afresh. Face packs, with herbal ingredients, can be applied even in youth in their teens.
Fruit based face packs are helpful for acne or pigmentation affected skins. A right amount of combinations of different ingredients of face packs will yields desirable results like reduction in wrinkles, discoloration of skin and acne, besides also being safe on the skin. Strawberry pack is fine. A sea weed based pace is excellent for ageing skin, because it helps tighten the skin thereby making it look youthful. DIY face packs are great way to have the face glowing minus the harm from chemicals. Face masks should cleanse skin thoroughly.
The best way for preservation of the skin conditions is not to use too many chemicals on face. Rubbing of tomato juice or curds on skin, allowing a natural dry and then a wash will apart from making the skin smooth, do away with tan also.
Vitamin E supplements like oils and lotions are good for health. It is better to let the skin get the Vitamin E from natural foods like fruits, veggies, dairy and nuts. Vitamin E pills may serve some purpose but their overdose will render the lungs irresistible to lung cancer and also lower the good cholesterol paving way for increasing the bad cholesterol levels.
