Five Items You Can't Leave At Home

Okay, I know I've written a hub about the only ten essential things to carry in your handbag, but I am still a human being and human beings have weaknesses. My weakness is my tendency to bring everything inside my handbag (or pocket). However, there are five things I can never leave at home -and you probably shouldn't too. Here goes:

House Keys

My mother taught me never to leave even a single house key nearby the front door. I always take her advice, because it just makes sense. No matter how realistic those ‘key house' rocks are made nowadays, it's never safe to leave your house key lying around.

Cell Phone

Now this is actually for the comfort of those who need you, rather than yourself. If you don't like it ringing in public places, have it on vibrate and tuck it inside your handbag, to the side nearest to your body. You might not want to receive all phone calls, but that doesn't mean you can't screen.

Wallet

It might be empty at times, but a wallet containing legal identities is very important at all times. Make sure you at least have your I.D. and driver's license. As for me, I was crazy enough to bring my passport everywhere I go. But that was before the bag-makeover.

iPod

Or any other portable MP3 player. This beats the boredom everywhere: in the subway, in line at the doctor, literally anywhere.

Hair Clip

Sure you look great in that Serena Van Der Woodsen ‘messy look', but seriously ladies, it helps to bring a simple hair clip just in case you run into a prominent client or an old crush who's an investment banker now. Besides, the spontaneous messy up-do is hot nowadays, so get it on!
