74Earning Money Online Through Writing
For those of you that want to earn money online through writing, finding a good home for your talent is of the utmost importance. This is the most frustrating part of becoming an online freelance writer.
Fortunately, there are folks like me that have already been through the wars of online writing, and are willing to pass along information for free. I have written for most every well known online site out there, and they all have their good and bad points.
This article will highlight the five sites that I have found to be good for me. Each of them I utilize, and each of them are great for different reasons. I will share with you why they each hold a place in my portfolio, and how you might benefit from them as well.
All of these sites are a distant last to our wonderful hubpages here, of course, but in a pinch we need to have plenty of options!
That said, let us take a look at the world of online writing.
Associated Content - Old Reliable
Associated Content is one of those sites that I consistently find myself returning to. They have been around for some time now, and they are one of the few online sites that still offer an upfront payment as well as page view bonuses.
Having worked with AC for about a year and a half, I can tell you one important detail about them.
AC is reliable. You know what you are going to get, and they are always right on time with payments, reviews, and publishing. As with all online writing sites, AC has the occasional glitch, but they are a solid company that will provide you with the option of writing about what you want.

Demand Studios - New Powerhouse
Demand Studios is a large company that handles hundreds of websites and their content. They are a bit more difficult to get on with, and you need to have a strong understanding of SEO and Keywords to get hired.
The good part of this particular website is that you can earn 15.00 per article, and they are super easy to write.
I regularly earn over 300 bucks a week with this fine company, and I look forward to earning a good bit more.
Generally when folks sign up they will write how to articles for one of the sites they own called ehow.com. They are particular about the rules of submission and that the articles be done according to the style guides that they provide.
Demand Studios is definately a wonderful company to work with.

Helium - Residual Income
Helium is one of the sites that I use to generate ideas. The set up over there is one that is actually very conducive to coming up with new ideas, though the earning potential seems limited.
They do offer contests, as well as a marketplace where you can earn great rates for your articles. The problem with these is that your articles may or may not be purchased or picked.
When you are writing full time for a living, you can not afford to work on "maybes" so Helium is my least favorite site to earn with.
I do take my articles that are non-exclusive and post them there so that you can earn the minute residual incomes that they provide.
Helium can be found here.
Constant Content - More Control
Constant Content is most certainly a professional online writing avenue that you should look into. Basically it is a place to post your entire portfolio for sale, and you set your own prices.
To do this, you must have your articles reviewed and accepted. Constant content is much more stringent with what they will put on their website. Make sure that it is well written, and articulate.
Constant Content allows you to market your work to a huge number of online purchasers, as well as the writing community as a whole.
Check out Constant Content here.
Ehow - How to Mogul
Ehow is included here for one reason. They have the best page view payments in the online world in my opinion.
As mentioned before, they are owned by Demand Studios. If you are not working for Demand Studios, sign up for Ehow anyway and take advantage.
Ehow articles take just a few minutes in some cases, and you can earn really well with their page view program. Just post a few of these a day, and you will be shocked at how quickly these page views add up.
Ehow can be found here.

- Automated AOL News: Heralding the Future of Online News Writing?Fast Company Magazine2 days ago
AOL's CEO Tim Armstrong has just launched his company into a world of controversy ( nothing new there, then) by promising to "spark a revolution." In what? Thank you very much for this info. I just signed up with AC. Any beginner's tips?
Thanks for the info...AC is mostl for US citizens.....
Thanks Rodney. Always nice to have a resource.
What about Daily Article? They're like Constant Content but you don't have to wait for a minimum to get paid.
Great hub, I shall check out the opportunities for Aussies!
Thanks! I'll follow this up.
Thanks for the info. I've checked out all of these places, and while I was totally turned off by Associated Content at first, because of the low prices they pay, I see now that it's the reliability of that small price that keeps people coming back. If you write consistently for them, it can work up to decent money.
My favorite is Constant Content, but you're right, they're VERY stringent. I've had work turned down for a couple of commas in the wrong places. Still, it's the best place I've found to make any real money.
