Flashlight
64How-To-Make a Flashlight
- Two D cell batteries
- A cardboard tube
- A number 222, 3-volt bulb
- Aluminum foil
- 1 inch striped wires
- Paper fasteners
- a paper cup
- Masking tape
- A paper clip(acts as the switch)
- Pliers(to stiripe the wire)
Procedure
1. First collect all the materials. Then tape the batteries together negative to positive, then put them in the cardboard tube.
2. Secondly strip the wires (about an inch) or enough so that u can tape the wire on the battery. Then poke two holes in the cardboard tube and put the two paper fasteners in both holes in the tube (they each get a hole to them selves). After that, put a wire through the bottom hole and tape it to the negative end of the battery. Then the other end of the wire should be tied around a paper fastener.
3. Thirdly, wrap a striped wire around the bottom of the bulb and then the other end of the wire should go through the other hole in the cardboard tube and should be tied around the other paper fastener.
4. Then, put the paper cup on top of the tube, and then put aluminum foil on the inside of the paper cup, this is your reflecter. Don't forget to put a tiny hole in the bottom of the cup and aluminum foil big enough for the bulb to fit but small enough so that it will just fit.
5. Then the bottom of the bulb should make contact with the positive end of the battery. Then put the paper clip on the bottom paper fastener that acts as the switch. Then to turn it on the paper clip should make contact with the top paper fastener and the light should go on.
