Are you the owner of a new LCD or Plasma or a Flat Panel TV?  Are you not unsure of how to mount it or where to mount it? Whether to the wall or just above the fire place it to be placed? Depending on the room size and the interior the LCD or the Plasma TV can be placed in different places of the house. Given below is the information according to the rooms, which helps in making decision of where the TV can be placed. Even some doubts regarding mounting is also answered. A professional or an electrician is the right person to install the mounting. Also the audio and video devices and their respective wires have to be considered along with the mounting. The basic wiring will be perfectly done by an electrician for the audio video devices and the normal power supply

A Custom Mount for a particular model of plasma TV or LCD TV is preferable. Because, a custom mount is something which is designed specifically for that brand and fit well perfectly. If the custom model for that brand is available then get it otherwise we can chose a universal Mount which is suited for 2 or more brands but still restricted to few only. A universal mount have the perfection percentage of 90% in mounting whereas a custom is 100% perfect fit for the brand.

Depending on the weight of the Plasma TV or LCD, the studs or the ceiling joist to be used to fix the mount to the wall or hanging it from the ceiling. The normal studs of 16 inch spacing will perfectly fix the mount whereas the 24 inch spacing studs will need a lateral shaft adjustment to fix it properly. The hardware parts for installation also include wood studs, metal, cinder blocks and solid concrete.

Usually, it is the family room where we prefer to install the Plasma or LCD TV. So only it can be viewed by all the members of the family. For these rooms, normally the TV will be 37 inches or above.

A ceiling mount with extension column is widely used as it can be adjusted according to the viewer’s choice. You have to consider the space of the room, the beam to connect to, and the drop of the mount before buying the ceiling mount. Depending on the applications, a variety of mounts are available. The plasma screens are used mostly in the places like bars and restaurants as it will be viewed from different angles and also from long distance. These screens once mounted will provide the bright picture in desired angles. For this, to have all the above features, it needs a mixture of ceiling, corner, wall and articulating mounts to be implemented in the restaurants and bars.
