Back Exercises
There are several back exercises that you can do in the comfort of your own home that will greatly reduce the risk of back pain.
Lie on your back on the ground with a rolled up towel under your lumber region.
Place both feet flat on the ground with your knees together.
Swing your knees to the right and hold for 5 seconds, then back to centre.
Swing your knees to the left and hold for 5 seconds, then back to centre.
Do this 5 times.
Then do the same exercises but only use one leg at a time, i.e. when moving to the right, only use your right leg, keep the left leg in the middle. Then do the same with the opposite leg.
Once you've done those, put both knees together again and bring them as close to your chest as possible without causing pain, hold for 5 seconds and back to centre. Do this 5 times and then rest.
You can do these exercises as often as you want but once a day, probably in the morning after getting out of bed, would be best.

So I am only 18 weeks and have ALOT of back pain I mean it hurts so bad to the point where if i stand up sometimes it could make me hunch over and cry and i just have to lay down on my side so i can pull myself together. I NEVER got back pain this BAD with my first daughter or first pregnancy and she was a 9lb baby! Does anybody have any suggestions on how to help with the pain? and how do you deal with it? Could it be anything more serious you think or just pregnancy pains.. Its a combination of lower and up high pain. But its not in the area of a UTI if that makes sense. - Resolved Question: having "less" symptoms, but a little pelvic pressure and a little low back pain. Is it a possible ectopic?
I am just at 9 weeks. I know because of my LMP and DOC. I went to the dr for the first time at almost 6 weeks, and then again 3 days ago. The first time they did the entire labs for the pregnancy panel and when i went back 3 days ago they didn't mention anything was wrong, and even did an inner pelvic exam. What I am wondering is... 1) would my OB have been able to tell if I had an ectopic pregnancy at 9 weeks? I read dull back pain and slight pelvic pressure (Im not having any pain) is a sign of that, and/or miscarriage... 2) is dull back pain common for 9 weeks?? I just get so nervous something has gone wrong, and although the OB didnt say so, from what ive gathered, there is really no way of knowing something is wrong until Im far enough for an ultrasound. She did check for a heartbeat with the doppler, but since I was only 8 weeks and 3 days, she said it was normal not to hear it yet. Ive had plenty of nausea, but no throwing up, have major food aversions, but drink enough and don't really have to pee all that often. I havnt bleed even a speck though. I have some major pregnancy symptoms still, but others aren't present at all. Am I just paranoid and over-reacting? Or do I have a reason to be worried?? Maybe I am just having a really good pregnancy? I have an appt in 4 weeks for when I am 12 months but hate knowing something could be going wrong and I wouldnt know, especially since people have said they miscarry and dont even know it til they go to the doctor. - 2 days ago
- Resolved Question: Really BAD back pain at 14 weeks and 3 days pregnant.?
I am fourteen weeks and three days pregnant and my back just randomly start hurting. It is a little above where my butt is. I don't know if it is just routine pregnancy back aches or if I should be worried. It had my in tears. I have also had diarrhea tonight, but I have had my gall bladder out and usually do when I eat greasy foods. My hubby rubbed my back for a few minutes and the pain has almost completely gone away. Is all of this normal? I am a first time mom and everything worries me. I did have an appt. Wednesday and heard the heart beat at 162 and everything looked good. Is there anything I can do besides tylenol and medicine? Thanks and God bless you all! - 2 days ago
