Whether you're traveling for just a few hours, or are forging ahead with an all-day flight, it's important to stay well hydrated and eat light throughout your trip. You'll need your energy levels to stay steady throughout the day, and making sure you have enough water in your system will keep your health in check. Any traveler can experience a handful of health hazards that usually start with migraines, nausea, dizziness, stomach aches, and symptoms of indigestion. Keeping hydrated on the flight will help your body adjust to temperature and climate changes, and even help you adapt better if you have jet lag. Here are some ways to stay hydrated on your next trip:

1. Drink plenty of fresh water before and after your flight. Avoid excessive water consumption when sitting in one place, since this might lead to water toxicity

2. Snack on water-based fruit and vegetables throughout the day

3. Avoid too much sun between flights, since this can make you tired and drowsy, and dehydrate you very quickly

4. Walk around the cabin every 1-2 hours to increase circulation and take a sip of fresh water during your break times

5. Avoid caffeine since this can make you lose water very quickly

6. Avoid alcohol, since this can make you dehydrated and also nauseous during turbulent flights

7. Enjoy fresh juice during snack periods on the flight; avoid brands with excess sugar

8. Don't eat high protein or high fat meals while on board. These can be difficult to digest, and can be very taxing on your system

Staying well-hydrated during your flight will give you the energy you need to enjoy your trip. Make sure you stock up on your favorite brand of bottled water, and just take frequent sips throughout the day.
