The Florida Keys and Key West are truly a little piece of paradise that a lot of American's simply over look. Key West is where US 1 ends and it is the southern most city in the United States. It is only 90 miles to Cuba from Key West. Key West is like no where else on earth. If you go expecting the fast pace life style of Florida you will be in for a culture shock. Key West is much more a European atmosphere than the rest of Florida. It also tends to be more expensive than the rest of Florida. But it is also a magical place that you can quickly fall in love with. A lot of famous people over the years made their home in Key West including Ernest Hemingway . He did a lot of his writing in Key West and today you can even visit the Hemingway House and see all the house cats that make their home there now.

They will simply take your breathe away. But what ever you do take your camera with you and plan to live Key Largo either at sunrise or a hour or so before sunset. You will see some of the most beautiful sights you will ever see on your drive down to Key West.
