Your tattoo designs are Beautiful.
Thank you Latresa they are wonderful designs. I can't claim credit for them myself however!
That is my cherry blossom/bird tatto and I'd like it taken down from this site. It is personal to me and although it's on my artist's portfolio site, I really didn't want it elsewhere on the internet. Again, this is personal to me and I'd like it taken off.
Hi Samantha Bird-
Thanks for letting us know first. We have taken it down!
Buddhist teaching isn't that life is suffering. Suffering comes from excess. Please do not misinform people. Read a book before you open your mouth next time.
Hi Jones-
Doubt you will be back to check on your comment that you made but if you do come back I felt I should respond. Even though I don't typically respond to remarks like yours I felt compelled to this time.
Actually I have read many books on Buddhism. Life is suffering is one of the ways to translate number one of the Four Noble Truths. To live means to suffer. Humane nature and the world around us is not perfect and we therefore suffer. Get illness, suffer loss and on and so forth. I find many people in the West like to but things into a nice package that is easy to understand and they therefore don't like to read the part that life is suffering. It is some how hard to digest so often it gets translated in many different ways and in all honesty it is a debated topic about how to best translate and understand what the Buddha meant. So you are partially right in your repsonse that suffering comes from desire, wants and excess but suffer also just comes from living and life is suffering. Cold hard truth.
So if you want to continue the debate I would be happy to. I have not made a mistake in my writing but it is possible a more complex issue then I summed up in my one sentence. So sue me, mark me with a scarlet letter but don't say read a book next time and insinuate that I am illiterate. Since I have read hundreds of books on Buddhism as I was a religious studies major in college with an emphasis in Buddhism and Eastern Religions.
