Follow The Path of Joy
62
If there is one message that underlies the message of the law of attraction it is follow the path of joy. What does that mean? How does one follow their path of joy? How can I find my joy?
It means to follow your bliss. Find what truly makes you happy and then do it. Everything else will fall into place. Finding your bliss, finding your joy, what truly makes you happy is as easy as falling off a log. But you need to be on the log in the first place.
Do you remember what it feels like to be a child? Remember when everything you saw, tasted, or touched was new? It still is! Each day is new and different. But we've convinced ourselves that everything is the same. We live in ruts worn deep by our compliance.
I thought about this-follow-your-path-of-joy thing when it came to starting my workout regime (something I've been meaning to do for a while *grin*). Exercise is not fun! Maybe you find joy in it but I do not. It feels like work. So how does one reap its benefits while following the path of joy?
So I called my mother and asked her (mind you she's 80) what I liked playing at as a child (of course thinking SHE'd remember better than I). She said that I loved playing outside outdoors. "No," I said, "before I was five – what did I like doing then?"
"Swim," she said.
"SWIM? Swim!" A professional swimmer, my mother taught me at the age of eighteen months. I can feel her hand under my belly as she let me "pretend" to swim. Soon I was on my own.
That workout regime – best exercise on the face of the planet – swimming laps! Just so happens that I have a membership that I pay pennies for because my daughter worked at 24 hour fitness thirteen years ago and I got a family bargain membership (though I haven't used it in 7 years because we were busy building our dream home). And they opened a brand new fitness center replete with Olympic pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, on my way to work.
I love swimming and doing it as exercise is like not exercising at all – yet its better cardio than anything else I've done. I made the decision to follow my joy – add something back to my life. Feeling like a kid again is the best thing you can do for yourself – so no matter what it is find it and do it and keeping doing it. Pretty soon – you'll be emitting pure joy back to the universe and it can do nothing else but comply and bring you more.

You too - maybe we should both take a howl at the moon and dance in the rain!

Wow! I love Joseph Campbell. I first found his saying "Follow Your Bliss and the Universe will open doors for you where there were only walls..." in The Secret when it came out. It is written in front of my desk.
For most of my life I have done things to make other people happy - my mother, my father, my bosses etc and made me TERRIBLY UNHAPPY! Yes, peace is so simple sometimes, to have, is just to let go and be happy!
I know exactly what you mean. Letting go of the stuff that doesn't make us happy is hard sometimes because we have identified ourselves with it. We are all unique and loved children of the universe. It's just hard to remember that sometimes.
Blessing.

WildwindE....Thank You! It is so hard to let go, & I sooooooo needed to connect with your message, talk about The Law of Attraction!
I decided to look up "following ones joy" because that is what I have found with Living the Miracle it is a small community which is growing quite strong by just that allowing everyone to follow there own joy of purity of heart. Hence allow the groups collective to be a joy driven experience and passion. It's not that we are out to save the world but to beacon to others that are in alignment with the same purity of heart and a joy for life.

I can see that you not only dance in he rain but wait for it to collect so that you can splash in the puddles. May you always feel the happiness of your youth.....Lu
