Skip the Soaps and watch the Food Network

When I first became unemployed...

Oh those wonderful soap operas! Yes they helped to fill my hours of boredom, but didn't quite keep my interest

as I'm not really the couch potato type. I tried the repeat shows on cable for a while, mostly as background noise, although I do enjoy some of them very much.

It wasn't until I started watching Martha Stewart that I realized I was hooked on crafting, cooking, baking, cleaning and organizing.

Me, the busy career woman? How did this happen?

The more I watched the craftier I became, the more I accomplished the more I wanted to accomplish. No stopping me now. Her show gave me insight to things I found I really enjoy.

For the first time in my life I actually have hobbies! WOW!

I follow her shows faithfully, and since then I've expanded my horizons to the FOOD NETWORK. How exciting this is! Cooking dinner has never been this much fun. All of the Chef's are so impressive. Emeril Lagasse, Bobby Flay, Ina Garten, Jiada, Sandra, Paula Dean, Michael Chiarello are so Inspirational. Not only have I learned new recipes and techniques, I've amazed people at family gatherings, and entertained like a pro.

You too can learn some new recipes and Chef's secrets at http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes-and-cooking/index.html

From simple recipes to gourmet meals and desserts, French, Italian, Latin, Southern, American, old-time favorites to new Cuisine.

I've learned so much from them. Healthy eating habits are a big benefit to our bodies and this is a great place to find out the best ways to purchase and prepare your family's meals. Whether you view it on TV or Online it's a real treat. They even show which wines to pair up with their creations. My dinner parties have become Extraordinary since tuning into their shows. My time is well spent watching, enjoying and learning the different methods they use. I'm no longer a kitchen wimp and proud of it! New recipes keep peaking my interest everyday and I now look forward to grocery shopping. How wonderful is that?!

Thankyou HGTV and The Food Network, June Cleever would be so proud!
