I've been taking training on health and food safety and there are lots of things I've learnt that I didn't know before. And it has made me more careful when I'm cooking. I'm listing some down here

1. When you cook food, it should be 70 degree celcius for 2 or more minutes, until its fully cooked.

2. You should allow it to cool for no more than 90 minutes, and then put it in a covered container and put it in the fridge.

3. You should only reheat food once otherwise bactaria will multiply

4. Bactaria multiply when there moisture, right temperature, time and one more factor.

5. Most bactaria will die when u heat the food. Except for spores which is a way bactaria protects itself. This bactaria will only die when u heat it at 122 degree centigrade

6. Don't buy dented tins, they can be harmful.

7. First in first out rule. Whatever goes first in the fridge, should come out first.

8. Arrange ur fridge so that you don't forget the contents and so they don't rot inside.

9. Ready-to-eat foods are high risk foods.

10. If you are serving stew, keep it hot and above 63 degree and use it within 2 hours.

11. Don't use the same chopping board to cut raw mean and cooked meat

12. Dishclothes and dishtowels can contaminate counters and dishes. Change them daily.

13. Make sure u rinse ur counters when u use disinfectants on them.

14. Remember, food poisoning can kill you.

15. Clean as you go.

16. Never eat defrosted icecream

17. Bactaria multiply process is called binary fission

18. Wash your hands frequently with an antibactarial soap

19. Your dustbin should be covered and shud have a pedal

20. Bactaria go to sleep when food is referigerated

Hi Sana. You make some very good points there and I wish more people would take the time to listen and absorb the information as you seem to have done Sana.
