The first emotions expressed were surprise, astonishment, anger and then….. an all consuming rage.

Thursday, November 27th will occupy a day in history of a dot in the map called Mumbai and her guardian India. Mumbai; her body made luscious by the raw organic nature of its very existence and the denizens that have adopted her , scarred by those who see her as the epitome of all that they hate about India still maintains her etherealness, her earthly beauty. Today she cried out again as she lost hundreds of her souls including her protean guards.

Why does this attack resonate more harshly than the previous ones? The gunmen have a face; this wasn't a bomb blast by shadowy unknowns. Their primary attack was more successful than ever and literally brought Mumbai down. Their targets were cinemas, Landmark hotels and to top it off; a hospital for women and infants.

We are fighting animals; highly organized and trained lethal animals. As I write reports are pouring in of the capture of a couple of the suspects. Rediff.com has mentioned that 100 has been killed and about 300 injured by these men.

What will shake Mumbai more is the loss of her Adeptus Custodes,The upper echelons of the famed ATS (Anti-Terrorist Squad) , Chief Hemant Sarkare, senior officer and mumbai's most famous 'Urban cowboy' ,Vijay Salaskar along with Assistant Commisioner of police Ashok Kamte were names to be feared. Salaskar alone has a recorded 73 kills of gang members to his credit. Sarkare was killed leading an assault on the women and children's hospital. These men died fighting in the thick of the action for their country.

I've just been informed that one more terrorist has been euthanized at Nariman house, no doubt part of the group that had killed a couple and a 16 year old boy. Nariman house is a Jewish enclave and no doubt presented a lucrative target for the 'mujahideen'. Here's hoping that more of these men are killed before they harm anyone else. Emotions are running high and I don't qualify to call Mumbai my 'home' as compared to many other deserving residents but if my emotions are so intense I can't imagine what someone living in Mumbai is going through.

What were the terrorists motivation? Incite riots, make India unattractive to foreigners? Cripple the Asian tiger ? Frankly I don't fear the terrorists at this point. I fear India's reaction, India's wrath on those who were responsible; The desperation of this operation points to an increasingly frustrated enemy whose goals are not being met because we haven't budged yet. Inciting riots is handing over victory to the terrorists in a silver platter as we will take the mantle of murdering our own country men; I hope we're not as stupid to as that.

Mumbai is unforgiving to its enemies. She exiled Dawood Ibrahim and his ilk; What do this newer generation deserve? Like I mentioned before a couple of the terrorists have been captured. I foresee Mumbai having multiple 'power cuts' because of the sheer amount of electric current law enforcement is going to divert into the genitals of the prisoners for interrogations purposes. Do I feel for them? No I don't give a damn and wish I had a front row ticket to the show. Sadly, me and a million others will have to play the revenge fantasy in our minds calling upon pulp writers and millions of bollywood movies to give us imagery.

For those who laid down their lives; for those who lost loved ones. The government cannot not fail us. We need answers to why we failed to protect our guests, our own people against these agents of malice. Only when we answer that can we call ourselves a nation worthy of being protected and being protective.

Blood has been shed and now people are looking for answers, justice. We have lost our champions, We have dozens of security people dead. The people of mumbai will demand our leaders for action and beg the question of

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? (Who will guard the guardians )

In memory of those who died at the hands of evil
