It's, in fact, the most significant news of the  Ducati GP9 in version 2009.
The monocoque chassis of carbon fiber composites is the new technical strategy of Borgo Panigale for MotoGP 2009: A new technical step that comes after the two previous steps that have occurred with the GP3 Ducati and the Ducati GP7.

The concept of the engine block carrier has been the guideline of the Desmosedici project that exploded and created the 'goal of achieving cycling in which each element performs a specific function, obtaining the desired stiffness with the least weight possible and putting in place, then, the maximum efficiency.

The engine, frame, front, rear chassis, the rear end (consisting of levers and swingarm suspension) and the forecarriage are the main elements of the bike, the new draft Borgo Panigale was, therefore, to abandon the classical concept of frame as an element for linking all the elements for a scheme in which the engine is the core element which are connected individually front frame, rear frame and rear suspension
