For parents with toddlers poem
61It’s late at night and I’m headin’ to bed
The dishes aren’t done, my eyes they look red.
My joints are a hurtin’; I’m bushed as can be
The laundry’s not folded and I barely see.
Slipping on toys, ouch that hurt by back
I’m comin’ undone by the sleep that I lack.
I pull back the blanket and curl up inside
When in comes a little one, eyes open wide
She climbs on the bed and jumps up and down
Then cries for a snack, all those tears; I will drown.
So up I must get to give her a snack
I made her a sandwich, she only ate half
A mess on the table, oh well I thought
I’ll clean it in the morning; I’ll then do a lot
I make my way back to my bedroom just when
A toddler yelled “Mommy, I have to pee again”
So off we went to get the job done
While telling myself I’ll miss all this fun
For soon they’ll be grown up and out on their own
I’ll be lucky to hear their voice on the phone
I crawl in to bed when I hear the loud ring
It can’t be, not yet, it just can’t be that thing
But to my dismay as I glance at the clock
I see it is morning, my alarm it went off

Boy, can I relate... :)
Yep..I have lots of days like that one. Thanks for your comments Write at Home
The scenario looks pretty much like mine. Sometimes I like to think of the day when I am going to miss them. Time flies. My kids are growing fast. Yet, it is still a long way to go. Savor the moment?
