My political issue

I sat down getting myself ready to type this paper I was finding myself torn between which of the two sides to pick on every major political issue there is. I believe that just about every political issue there is in this world has a right and a wrong side that is pretty much equal in their views. I was going to talk about the America Empire but found myself torn between the two sides. I know I believe in one fundamental that is great for the human race and that is change. Hey there I go that is public issue right. Well maybe change is what's a part of every public issue. To have positive growth in mankind I found through all my reading and observations I have obtained through life that positive growth seems to follow change, both positive and negative change.

Let's take this American Empire issue for example. The idea about having maybe just one super power on earth can be a great thing, but also a bad thing. I know that one thing is for sure that if America was the only super power it won't last forever. Look at all the great powers through out the ages they have all been replaced with a younger, smarter, and more powerful country; which in turn these nations created great achievements through ages. It would invoke other nations and cultures to strive to become stronger economically and socially. I don't just support this one nation I support mankind there are many great nations out there waiting to break through the barriers of what America has achieved. But if America isn't the only super power then it would be great for America, because it would cause the United States to be competitive in the world economically and socially. See this is my problem I can't pick a side.

So here I sit still trying to figure out what I want to take on for this paper. I guess my biggest issue I have is freedom in the United States and its costs for me as a citizen. I have learned a lot growing up in this generation I am in. Mainly what I have learned is to be myself and don't let any take charge of my life, well I mean that is what people told me I have to do. Good thing they took charge and made me do that, wait does that make sense? That is kind of like our freedom here in the states, freedom huh? That is my biggest problem that freedom really doesn't seem to be freedom. It seems to be what everyone else thinks what everyone else needs. But I find myself talking to everyone and they always want something different than that what everyone else thinks that everyone else needs. Now where does this fit into my life, this life were I am suppose to take charge and believe what I want to believe if I don't agree with what everyone else thinks everyone needs. I am kind of selfish like that.

I understand a lot these laws and why we have them, oh and I agree with most of them. But why are we forcing some very important life changing decisions on people, like doing drugs, abortion, how about same-sex marriage. Why as a government are we forcing people to change their life for our needs. What makes our needs so much more important than everyone else. Why are we so selfish that we have to force laws on others because what they do offends us and/or might affect our lives. I am not going to force my love interest to not have an abortion for an unwanted pregnancy if it is her chose, even though I don't believe in abortion. I am not going to keep people from smoking marijuana every waking minute of their life, even though I think drugs should never be used. These are things that seem to be denied because these issues bother other people. That is were I have a problem, freedom is about living your life not forcing other people to also live the same life.

I know I am starting to sound very anti-government, but there is a need for change. Imagine the growth we could have as a nation if allowed people to be themselves. To actually challenge other peoples answers to other peoples problems. I know that oppression would likely form but as human beings we need to learn to find a way to over come that oppression because who in their right mind would rather be oppressed than to stand up for what we believe. I mean are we that lazy as human beings. Like I say to my friends

"You can't be scared to be persecuted for your beliefs, if you are you will never succeed any further in your life than what you have reached now."

So as citizens we need to take control of what we want. As citizens we need to communicate. As citizens we need to not be afraid of achieving true freedom, because somebody says that it should be different then what we believe it should be.

Force freedom is happening right now in the United States of America and needs to be changed. In a class discussion we came to a conclusion that force freedom is a great thing, well that's if it wasn't corrupted. I believe that it is corrupted by the fact mankind wants more for less. They rather earn what they want the fastest route they can. That in turn causes these people to corrupt governmental ways by oppressing us with nonsensical laws. The oppressor does this to achieve an environment that is most efficient for the oppressor to get what he or she wants. This is what's causing our freedom to slowly dissipate. This is why I am against forced freedom.

So here we sit, me typing you reading. Here we sit wheels turning in our heads. Here we sit thinking about how we will make a change. You may be thinking about how to avoid me for the rest of your life, so you don't have to hear me rant ever again about this issue. You may be thinking about why haven't you taken control yet, why haven't you stood up for your beliefs yet. You also may be thinking...

"You know about time some else has this same idea."

But I am going to tell you what to be thinking and this is the only time I will tell you what to do. I am going to tell you when you find an injustice in our country that you disagree with, think to yourself and go is this freedom, and then make it change. Make it change to what you truly deep down believe it should be, but when you do that be ready for criticism and a reaction from others. They both can be positive and negative. But again I know what I have chosen, I have chosen nay on forced freedom and hopefully I will be able to make a change. I can't say that my side is right and I can't say its wrong, but we do need change. Forced freedom could be a great thing, as long as the ideals behind it are followed to the exact. But it also could be bad thing if the ideals are not. But the side I have chosen is because I lack faith in mankind to honestly up hold the ideals the way they were meant to be up held.

I think this is very nicely written and it's good to see young people who can actually think for themselves.
