Are there any honest and knowledgeable performance tuners left ?

I'm sure we've all had a bad experience or two when it came to aftermarket modifications and reputable Performance shops. I'm not new to the aftermarket scene and as of today I'm on my 30th car and I've yet to find an honest shop. My issue started on November 8th, 2005. I had just purchased a 2005 Mitsubishi Evolution 8 MR edition and was quite excited being one of the first to own that rare color and model in my area. Not being able to leave anything stock and the hunger for more power, the first round of modifications which sadly due to poor tuner shops made it my last. Being a member of EvolutionM.net and have a friend that owned a performance shop out in L.I., NY I ended up doing the basics. I purchased a set of HKS 272/280 duration cams, an HKS suction kit, Helix Turbo-back exhaust, Forge unos boost controller, and HKS SSQ recirculating Blow off valve. On November 8, 2005 I had an appointment scheduled at a very well known shop in Stamford, CT. I arrived early as the night before all I could think about was getting this done, I was at the shops front doors at 8:45 a.m and they scheduled my appointment for the installations for 9 a.m. It was at that moment that I had realized I was in for a disappointment as no one showed up till 9:45 a.m., that was 45 minutes wasted 2 hours away from home infront of a shop that I had no idea if business was going to conduct normally that day. 9:45 am comes around and some mechanic shows up in a customers car that he had taken home, parks it out back, signs me in and proceeds to work on the car. The waiting began and so did the headaches. The parts installation was complete at 3 pm and the tuner had me set up for a dyno tune at that given shop for 4pm. Needless to say 4 pm came around and I was still left sitting in that 3 chair section they call waiting area with no heat, dead winter with no means of entertainment playing the waiting game for a poor excuse of a tuner. Finally 6pm came around and some over weight excuse of a tuner shows up with countless excuses as to why he was running late. At that point I was pretty fed up so I stepped outside to get a bit to eat and played the waiting game yet once again. At around 8 pm the tuner walked into the waiting room and informed me that there was a problem with the car and it wasn't making the expected power. Mind you I took a bone stock car that had no issues with 1,200 miles to a well known shop and was told that my parts were defective. This poor excuses of a tuner kept suggesting that the HKS valves were complete garbage and that they leak under boost and what not and proceeded to reccomend some Forge blow off valve. They charged me to change the B.O.V. and proceeded to make another run, what do you know? HKS B.O.V. wasn't the issue as the car seem to make 10 less horse power with the Forge unit. At this point this well known professional tuner looked more like a teenage parts swapper to me in hopes of covering his ass and changing parts to remedy the situation. Another 2 pulls on the dyno and still nothing, another visit by our hungry friend and he informs me this time that they need to perform a compression test to see if the motor was in good standing. So here I am, 9:30 PM with no means of getting home as the car was in a horrible state and I didn't want to damage anything pissed off and cusring myself for even dealing with such idiots. Some more time passes and at this point I'm fed up with "not being allowed in the shop" and just barged in the shop while they were doing the compression test. I, the customer had to point out the fact that the timing was off as the arrows on the cam gears were in off by a couple teeth. Before the motor was retimed the tuner forgot the rachet on the crank bolt as they used that to turn the motor and proceeded to turn it using the starter for the compression test, we heard a loud bang and he rushed to get the rachet off not thinking anything of it. So at the end, even though the shop fucked up... They charged me for a boost leak test that I didn't need, a compression test that I didn't need, a BOV install that I didn't need and to top it off a "Diagnostics" labor fee.  So now I manage to leave this place people call a shop and manage to make it home in one piece, little did I know that it would be my last night with the car.  I had to travel early the next morning about an hour away from my house and decided to leave a little early not to hit traffic.  About 15 minutes into the drive I found a nice private patch of road and decided to hit it up to about 120mph or so just to see how the power, that's when all hell broke loose.  At around 120 or so the car decided to shut off coming through a decently sharp turn needless to say it ended up really bad and I was seriously injured.  It all went back to the  tuner who forgot the rachet on the crank pulley, It loosened the bolt, knocked off the crank pulley/crank sensor and shut the car off on me on a high rate of speed.  A situation that could have been easily avoided if the shop and tuner were trained professionals not grease monkey's.  I have many more horror stories from big reputable shops but due to current cases the shops will be left unnamed till the situations get resolved or I am able to give names out.  Stay tuned for more reviews!  Thank you for looking!
