Ford Motors, World famous automaker, launched marketing operations in Bangladesh on July 13, 2009. It launched a show room and service center at Abdullahpur on the outer edge of the capital city Dhaka. AG Automobiles Ltd, the local agent of Ford Motors will supervise the marketing operations.

Commerce minister M Faruk Khan has launched the first show room of Ford as chief guest of the opening ceremony.  US Ambassador James F Moriarty was the special guest on the occasion. Managing Director of Anwar Group Khaled Ibrahim, who is former president of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), business leaders, renowned businessmen and company officials were present.

The commerce Minister welcomed the marketing operations of ford and said, ‘It would play significant role in strengthening the bilateral business activities between Bangladesh and USA. Presence of ford in Bangladesh will help speed up the country’s economic growth and especially foreign investment.’

He expected that Ford Motors would be a credible business partner and said, ‘despite the impact of global economic crisis, the company made it to signal its turn to recovery.’

He also said, ‘Ford Motors is engaged in various social welfare activities and programs focused on protecting environment. I hope that the company would make valuable contribution to promoting welfare and protecting environment in Bangladesh.
Especially, it will promote business here with environment friendly automobiles; which are safe, fuel-efficient and emit less carbon in the air.’

The minister asked the company to make available improved post-sales services. It will also contribute to bring welfare to workers and cut poverty.

Ford Motor Company is an American multinational corporation and the world's fourth largest automaker based on worldwide vehicle sales. Its Bangladeshi agent AG Automobiles is a sister concern of Anwar Group.
