Elizabeth Edwards was on Oprah talking about her handsome husband's John Edwards infidelity with a mistress who he may have fathered a child. The story has human interest quality because Elizabeth Edwards is dealing with a cheating spouse while very ill and a politician who could very well have become President of the United States.

John Edwards was a front runner for the President of the United States in 2008 along with Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Elizabeth Edwards is terminally ill and was alongside her husband during the campaign trail. It is thought that John Edwards lied to his wife as he cheated and had an affair with his mistress. He has earlier denied that he had a relationship with the mistress. One of the commentators said she wondered what state the country would be in if John Edwards had become president. Elizabeth Edwards have written a book about the affair called Resilience. One  of the commentators on Hardball, a political television show said that John Edward's political career may be over and should not consider running for president again.

John Edwards is from North Carolina and is thought to have used campain money to hush his mistress as he had the affair during the 2008 presidential campaign. The mistress has already had the baby and Elizabeth Edwards is denying that John Edwards is the baby's father. Elizabeth Edwards is saying that the pictures of the baby of which she has seen does not look like any of her other children. It is thought the Elizabeth Edwards came out with the book because she did not want to be thought of as a victim. The Edwards are well to do and is in no need for money that the book Resilience would bring in.

Yet Elizabeth Edwards has become very vocal lately talking about her husband's infidelilty. John Edwards was thought of as running for the presidency on integrity and his now so-called love for his ailing wife appealed to most Americans. Elizabeth Edwards is saying that she wants to believe that her husband only cheated once. She is in denial that there may have been more than one incidence of infidelity by John Edwards, her husband, as she battled with her illness. The affair with John Edwards and his mistress happened during the 2008 campaign though he was in denial most of the time. John Edward's campaign manager told him that he could not run for president if he had been cheating on his wife.
