Fort Hood…Did Political Correctness Lead to These Injuries and Deaths

I wish to express my deepest sympathy to everyone at Fort Hood…my thoughts and prayers go out to all.

As I have listened to gain information on this horrible tragedy, I have found myself in disbelief at the sympathy shown for the attacker. This is a man, who allowed the military to put him through medical school, knowing that he could at any time be called to war. This is a man, who knew 8 years ago after 9/11 that Muslim Radicals were the enemy, yet he proceeded to use the military to acquire his education. He obviously was not good at his profession, as he received a poor evaluation at Walter Reed Medical Center. He was then transferred to Fort Hood, where he was told that he would deploy to either Iraq or Afghanistan. It was at this time that he decided to inform his superiors that he was not comfortable with war.

There are but a few facts being released at this time, but we do know that the guns used in this rampage were not military issue; he had purchased them just months before. We know that he had cleaned out his apartment and that he had given away his clothes. These few details alone lead me to believe that he planned this; it was not a crime of passion. This man planned to kill; whether it was revenge, religion, or stress…he planned to cause harm. This falls under the definition of terrorist, he does not have to be linked to Al-Qaida to be guilty of terrorism.

It is known that Maj. Nadil Malik Hasan was a Muslim that did not believe in the war on terror being carried out in Iraq and Afghanistan. He had made it known to others in the military that he did not want to deploy, and that he believed that Muslims should stand up and fight back. If the religious beliefs of Maj. Hasan were this strong I believe that he should have left the military very soon after 9/11. He should have never allowed the Army or the taxpayers to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in his career, knowing that he would never fight for this country.

I also have to wonder why, if the military knew of his beliefs and his discomfort with the war, why he was not discharged. Why would the Army allow someone with such conflicting views, to treat soldiers dealing with emotional problems from a war that he himself did not believe in? Then it hit me, the Army was attempting to be politically correct, fearing discrimination charges if they were to single him out.

I have to agree with Lt. Col. Peters, I believe that this is the largest terrorist attack within the borders of the United States since 9/11. President Obama’s remark that we should not jump to conclusions, is just another example of the far left mindset that I believe will eventually lead to another 9/11 or something even worse. This horrible massacre in Texas shows us that being politically correct is not always the right thing. Maj. Hasan had no business being in the United States Military, definitely not in the capacity of a medical professional charged with the emotional well being of our brave soldiers.

This war on terror is not just being fought in the Middle East, it is everywhere. Sadly as much as the liberals would like to believe that if they bury their heads in the sand and bring the troops home, this war will slowly fade into the distance. This war will never fade; whether the U.S. wins or loses…Most Americans do understand that a victory is the only thing that will allow them to believe that the lives lost on 9/11 as well as the soldiers that have given their lives, are not in the end lives lost in vain.

Thank you for posting this!! It is so frustrating that we continue to bow to the Muslim extremist viewpoints, and will not acknowledge the THREAT this religion often poses! I fear for our country... Take a look at Great Britain and you will see Americas future if this continues. *sigh* Okay ((deep breath)) sorry to rant. God Bless You! And the families of those wounded or killed.
