How Sex Forty Days Tests Marriages

The situation comedy called Surburbia that comes on after Dancing with the Stars decided to follow Oprah's Book Club selection to bring life back into a marriage by following the forty day of sex regiment. Bob Saget the star of the situation comedy decided to try to stay on the forty day regiment without a break to see what effect the regularity of sex will have on his marriage.

Bob Saget was edged on by the neighbor who had been reading Oprah's Book Club Book, Forty Days of Sex.  In the book the couple had pledged to have sex for forty days to see if the sexual bonding would heal their marriage and bring the needed excitement. The neighbor could not believe that Bob was going to go along with the sex game with his wife.. Well, by the fifteenth day, Bob had run out of ideas of sexual pleasures and decided to talk it over witih his neighbor. The neighbor suggested that Bob repeat some of the routines but Bob had had enough. Bob told his trusted neighbor that he was going to up a trip so that he would not have to have the remainder of the sexual encounters with his wife.

The problem as Bob confessed to his neighbor was that he did not like hearing every night about his wife's inner most feelings about their relationship. Bob's wife had told him that once she had contemptplated leaving him among other relationship issues.  Bob found out that women open up their hearts to their men after a sexual relationship and openly share intimate secrets with their mates.  After 15 nights of probable incredible sex but having to listen to the heartfelt conversation from his wife was too much for Bob to listen to.

Bob decided to go on a business trip a month in advance to distance himself from his wife and her lamentations. His wife however  decided to come along with her sexy nighties thinking that the forty day of sex game was still on. Bob told her when she entered the hotel room that he could not go through with the other nights of sex  because he did not like hearing so much relationship talk. The honest confessions may have been too much to bear but Bob did not say no to one more  sexual encounters.  The wife started to leave upon Bob's lie of upping the trip but he slipped and said the three word sentence that quieted his wife's anger, Bob told his wife that he loved her too much to hear her talk of some of the sadness in their relationship.  After that night at the hotel, life went on as usual in  "Surburbia." 

Variants are that Bob and his wife had been married for many years with a teenager and a small child. Although the story was a situation comedy, some of Bob's actions related to  real life situations. It is true that men would rather not talk about their relationship with thier wives. If a wife or girlfriend (not in the same relationship) ask a man if he loved her oftentime he will say that he shows his love by taking care of the family. Rarely will a man say "I love you." Have not figured that one out except maybe the three words means committment. But in a marriage, the commitment is already there so go figure.

Also the real life situation in the television show was that women are willing to do whatever they can to revive, save or bring life to their relationship. than men are. During one of their conversations, Bob's wife  said that she was always the one trying to spruce up the relationship. Forty Days of Sex will make a marriage come back to life sexually and will probably run its course with newly weds still ravaging in the legality of having sex without having to get a room. But Forty Days of Sex can not compete with forty more years or so of real love that a few couples find when they play the sexual games and weather each other storms.
