Shopping has changed so much over the last twenty years.  I can still remember walking in to a corner shop, that sold everything you could ever want.  Stocked from floor to ceiling, with hard ware items, food, a few toys, you must know the kind of shop i am talking about,

Now though shopping on line has become the thing to do, for busy people.  Every day it get's easier to buy just whatever you are looking for...... You don't have to wait too long, usually a few days or maybe a week, and no battling with the umbrella to get to the car on a rainy day....

I still love the shops though, o.k. so you no longer the personal touch, in any shop.  I remember corner shop all over England, and they had a lovely smell to them somehow, i think it was probably as a child i could smell the sweets, that sat invitingly on the counter.  The shop keepers always seemed to be a bit strict and did not seem to like children very much........

Every shop you go in now is just laden with as much of everything as you could possibly desire.  I love to walk round and look, and even plan what i might buy months ahead.,  Just being in a shop makes me happy.  How about you do like shopping? 

This sketch probably the most popular of the two Ronnie's sketches,  is not only hilarious. but has a taste of nostalgia.  I would love to go inthat shop and wind the little man up, get him climbing up and down the ladders time and again......

p,s,  Anyone remember the lovely wool shops scattered all over the place, where you could put your wool away, and even if it took months to finish a garment, you could still keep going and picking up a few balls of wool a week..... knitters had lot's to talk about, so whenever I went in a wool shop, which was nearly every day, when my children were little you could have a great chat with fellow knitters.

Aw as my grandma said to me, a lot.......... life ain't what it used to be.  Go on make a cuppa and enjoy the Two Ronnies at their beautiful best,
