Putting together a proper six pack abs diet will be one of the most critical things you can do for your success.  When you hear people state that 'abs are made in the kitchen' they aren't kidding.  Every single piece of food you put into your mouth throughout the day is going to have an impact on the progress you get with your six pack program.

While each person will have their own favorite healthy foods to add to their six pack abs diet, there are some that really tend to kick your progress up a notch.

The following are four foods that will really benefit your progress towards getting flat abs.

Egg Whites

Egg whites are one of the most convenient source of protein to add to your six pack abs diet and are extremely cost effective.  Most people are on a limited budget when it comes to groceries so this does prove to be quite handy.

The second great thing about egg whites is that they are incredibly versatile so you should not struggle to add them to your plan with ease.

Fish

The second food to eat for six pack abs is fish. Fish is another high quality source of protein and is very low in fat.  Most fitness competitors choose to make fish their main source of protein and for good reason.

The one thing to watch with fish consumption however is that you're staying away from varieties that contain more mercury as that could be harmful over time.

Nuts

Nuts, while calorie dense, are another great six pack abs food.  They are going to help keep hunger levels down and also contain a very high number of important nutrients that will help you maintain good health as you progress along your diet to get six pack abs.

The most important thing to watch when you're eating fish is that you really monitor your serving size since this will make the biggest difference in the results you get with your six pack abs diet.

Green Vegetables

Finally, the fourth element that will make up a good six pack abs diet are green vegetables.  These are also filled with nutrients and fiber only they hardly have any calories at all.

For this reason you can virtually eat as many as you'd like making it a very simple way to stick with the lower calorie diet that encourages fat loss.

So have a look over your current menu.  How many of these six pack abs foods are incorporated?
