Four Steps to a Good Night Sleep
63Some Nights May Require More than A Warm Glass of Milk
Getting a good night sleep requires more than having a glass of milk at night and counting sheep. Here are steps to help you to have a good night sleep.
Step One: Plan to have physical exercise as a part of your day. Physical exercise is not to tire you but to give you the energy needed to get through your day energetically. Energy is what keeps you busy either performing chores or gardening. You will be in a good state of mind knowing that you are accomplishing tasks and being physically active. Physical exercise should include a daily workout routine for a good night sleep.
Step two: Any problem that is encountered throughout your day should be solved right away. Your subconscious has a way of keeping you up at night if you have an issue that has not been addressed. You may choose to dismiss the problem but if the problem is not solved to your satisfaction, you may subconsciously keep the problem on your mind at night which will keep you up at night.
Step Three: To get a good night sleep keep on a sleeping routing of hitting the sack every night at the same time. A routine sleeping time puts you on a good night sleep schedule that you will adhere to because of the habit that is formed when you get to sleep every night at the same time. Do not waiver from your sleeping schedule and get in the routine of having a cup of milk nightly that may signal you that it is time for a good night sleep. Do not eat after a certain hour to let yourself know that dinner is over. You will not be up subconsciously waiting for something to eat because that would be out of your sleeping routine.
Step Four: Do not try to sleep with the television on or with exercise equipment in your bedroom. These activities require for you to be awake and may hinder you from getting a good night sleep. Put the television set in the living room or the den and the exercise equipment in another room. If you notice infomercials do not advertise their products in the bedroom but in the living room or an exercise room. These companies are aware that to sell their products they must place their equipment in an optimal place. An optimal place for exercise equipment is outside of the bedroom. You will get a good night sleep if you bedroom is a relaxing place of immobile and quiet objects that can easily lure you to a good night’s sleep.
