Most email clients and web based mail services have in-built spam filters. Internet Service Providers (ISPs) use these same spam filters. Using Internet marketing as a means to promote products or services has become a challenge to individuals and companies. Thanks to active spam filters, most marketing emails end up reaching the junk or bulk mail folder, rather than the inbox of subscribers. In such a scenario, how is it possible to have an email campaign that has a high ROI? Take a look at the following tips:

Get on to the recipients’ white list

Obviously, ROI is directly linked with the deliverability of emails. To get your email past spam filters and into their inboxes, you should try and get on the white list of your clients. In other words, you should convince your clients to include your email address in their contact list or address book. Getting on to the white list of your clients is a cost effective way of ensuring deliverability. When clients include your email address into their address book, it means that they trust you as a sender. When you get on to the white list, your email campaign will not be stopped by spam filters, so long as the email address is the same.

Incorporate Pictures

It is a good idea to incorporate pictures in your email campaign. What should these pictures be? Well, avoid adding randomly selected pictures. Preferably, you should add pictures of human beings; because, such pictures give a strong emotional touch to your campaign, and consequently, increase the chances of your customers opening your emails. Always add appropriate captions, when you insert pictures in your marketing emails.

Add data-entry fields

This is a good way to make the content on your email more relevant. Just like pictures, data-entry fields should not be randomly selected. There should be email address fields for newsletter, email list sign-ups and product search fields. It makes the content more relevant and you can cater to different types of customers. If you make your content more relevant, the chances of users subscribing to your emails will be more.

Add videos

Videos are another effective way to improve ROI on your email campaigns. By adding videos, you are making it clear that you are well aware of the latest techniques used to organize brilliant email campaigns and besides, users like to see videos. However, the videos you incorporate should be relevant to the content and your clients should be able to relate to them. Videos give marketers the chance to include more information as compared to basic text or an image.

To conclude, the ROI on your email campaign depends entirely on how well designed your emails are. The idea is that users should feel compelled to read your emails. Remember, adding videos, images and data-entry fields to an email campaign, are as important as getting on to subscribers’ white lists.
