Franchise Start-Up Could Be Gold in Your Pocket

I remember years ago when McDonald´s began selling their business model as a franchise. The price for the early McDonald's franchises were inexpensive compared to what they cost today. McDonald's are all over the world. Those people that jumped on the band wagon early got in cheap and are super wealthy today. Those people had the ability to see into the future with intuition that led them to make the correct decision.

What kind of criteria do these people use when making a decision whether or not to buy into a franchise opportunity? Is the ability to think on multiple levels and see the success of the business model as a matrix? Perhaps it is the advertising and marketing package the company uses to advertise and sell its goods. Or is it the ability to have a broad experiential overview of a niche market and make a decision based on that information. Ray Kroc, a multi mixer milkshake machine salesman, saw the genius of the McDonald brother´s operation and was successful in turning the hamburger and milkshake operation in what, according Wikipedia is "is the world's largest chain of fast food restaurants serving nearly 47 million customers daily." So, do you have the eye to spot a good franchise start-up and capitalize on your intuition? There are a few good franchise opportunities that present themselves now and then. A person that has more practical experience than a milkshake machine salesmen should be able to spot a good franchise opportunity which could result in future pockets full of gold.

It is notable that Ray Kroc, the milkshake machine salesman made US$500 million with his McDonald's franchise model.  Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Kroc
