The Easiest Ways to Get Backlinks

Get Backlinks
In previous hubs, I've discussed how to use RSS feeds to earn traffic and the all important backlink.
I've discussed how to use Press Releases to promote your articles, websites and online businesses and garner traffic to your hubs and the all important backlink.
I've reviewed several methods of increasing your traffic in this hub, for the purpose of getting that all important backlink.
In this hub, I'm going to discuss further the importance of writing articles and submitting them to other sites. Why? For the purpose of getting that all important backlink, of course.
Write Articles
Writing articles should be your number one priority if you plan on earning any substantial amount of money from online ventures. Writing hubs for Hubpages.com and lenses for Squidoo.com, or other revenue sharing sites is great as a sideline, but if your serious about earning money from your writing then you must not "keep all your eggs in one basket." You must:
- Diversify and churn out hundreds of unique articles
- Forget about earning Google Adsense from each of those articles
- Concern yourself with using those articles to get you backlinks
- Brad Callen’s Free Article Submitter
With Article Submitter Platinum, you simply select all of the directories you would like to submit to and then click "submit" ONCE and BAM, automatically get 400+ backlinks and traffic with the push of a button.
Submit to Article Directories
After writing your article, you want to submit that article to as many article directories as you can locate. Don't worry about duplicate content because your goal for these articles is not to earn you adsense revenue, your goal is to get as many backlinks as you can and all pointing to your site.
Using article directories is the simplest form of article marketing. It's a form of advertising which makes articles freely available for distribution, publication, and syndication on websites, blogs and just about anywhere a publisher chooses. Each article contains an author's resource box which carries a bio and by line, as well as references contact information and... you guessed it, the BACKLINK.
Make sure your articles are keyword rich and relevant to the site you are promoting. You can find more about finding and using keywords in this hub. For most article directories, there is a minimum word count, usually set at 500, and max count of 1200. Not all directories are created equal and not all will give you the same weight with your backlinks, but think long term. Don't think of writing articles as a quick way to earn a buck because unless you are really lucky, it takes a while to build up to a respectable level of income.
Now, for those hubbers and lense builders out there, I've created a brand new article directory called 411 Article. I have made the directory Hubpages and Squidoo friendly. Meaning, I created article categories specifically for Hubs and Lenses. My directory has a minimum word count of 200 and the max is set at 1500.
If you want to post on this site you must first create an account with a username and password. To promote your Hubs or Lenses, I ask that you write a short article complementing your Hub or Lense and place a link for it inside the author's resource box. HTML is not allowed in the body of the article because it could cause some wicked things to happen to some browsers, so links are only allowed in the resource box.
This is a free service and I will never ask you for any compensation. This a good time to get started too because the creator of the publishing script I'm using has informed me that he is developing a way for us site owners to share in the adsense revenue with our authors. It's coming I just don't know when or how soon. But like I mentioned earlier, our ultimate goal is to get backlinks.
Good luck with your writing experience and I hope to see you on 411 Article. If you're a hubber, send me a message If you choose to join and I can assist you with any further questions.

Starting a new website which should be up and running this weekend then deff I will be joining !
Thanks for stopping by Cindy and BC. It's a project I've been working on for a few weeks now and I'm sure it will be a benefit to all hubbers as it's pretty hard to get backlinks in article directories for your hubs when most AD's set their word counts high.
Of course most article directories have the purpose of providing free content for web publishers, which is also my main purpose for 411Article.com, but I felt the need being a hubber for a place to dump a backlink specifically for a hub.
Great hub Richard, I would definitely recommend this hub to IM newbies as it would give them a big jump start. Whether you are coding yourself or using platforms like wordpress, building the site itself is fairly easy, it's the building of backlinks that people usually have trouble with. Thanks for sharing some great info.
Thanks for stopping by ajm. It's true, building backlinks can be a headache because they actually take a little time to build but they don't have to be. If you're going to make a living at this then learning how and where to place backlinks shoud be an every day task.
This is great information for this newbie! Thank loads and I will join next week.
Tthanks for taking the time SE. And that is the key to being successful online, taking the time to learn all that you can. It all sounds real daunting at first but once you get into a rhythm it starts to come easy.
I've also began adding them to my "signature" in any and all forums I belong to that will allow them. Of course analytics is a great way to see which of these backlinks are getting you the most traffic.
Thanks for the tips! Will def be checking out 411 Article.
Hi Pink and thanks for the comment. I'd like to also point out that there are two types of backlinks, ones that attempt to drive traffic to your articles and web sites, and there are backlinks that are only there for the search engine spiders to see. The way you get these backlinks is to find high PR sites that have 2 things, free membership and a place to make a profile. They're not that easy to find unless you do a lot of web surfing and trial and error. If you find a place that allows a link in the profile, then you also have to view the page source to find out if the link is a dofollow because only dofollow links have value in SEO. Links without dofollow have value only when they are publicly viewable and can drive traffic. Nofollow links have no Google Juice.
If you want a free backlink with pagerank 7 follow these steps:
1.- Register in mtv.com
2.- Sign In
3.- Create a blog post in the blog section
4.- Post your link with the anchor text inside the post you create.
Thanks for the tip Trabajo, I'll check it out.
I like the idea submitting articles to free articles directories submitted.
Very nice website I will study it. Your suggestions were very helpful, Thanks!
Glad to hear you confirm the notion of writing backlinks. I did a SEO service for a client earlier in the year and expanded the keywords people were using to find his site from 80+/90+ to over 140+ . . . and I added key local words to his site on apartments in Pasadena.
Great Don. I can tell you that Google is interested in LOCAL, the more local your listings the better they will be served on Google's search engine. Google has replaced the phone book.
Thanks for the info on article writing. North side or South side? Cubbies or Sox?
Your welcome Vince and thanks for the comment. I'm a Cubs fan since my first game 35 years ago and a North Sider.
Hi Richard - Many thanks for this hub, and the others like it that you have produced. I've bookmarked them as I'm sure I'll keep refering back to them as I make a start on this SEO lark.
Thanks again!
Jeff
Thanks Jeff, glad I could help.
I have book marked this so I can come back and read the rest of your hubs , Thanks for sharing this valuable information
thanks alot for the info
Good intro to article marketing here. Probably worth noting that the 'easiest' backlinks are not usually the highest quality, however if used properly I still think article marketing works well for link building
I think you're right in that you have to vary your backlink sources, but especially the anchor texts. Google is clamping down on high densities of anchor texts, so long anchor texts, different keywords and sometimes a "More...."
Great hub, Richard. There is some valuable information here and is helpful to me since I am virtually starting out fresh. Bookmarking this hub.
thank you for sharing your expertise on this to your fellow hubbers who are babies on the web marketing like me
you're so expert. Your backlinks have bring me to many of your hubs lol.
you have the marketing talent!
are you doing this fulltime?
Thank you all for taking the time to read and comment on my hubs. @blbhhdcn I do this part time but I have many years of experience. I've been marketing my websites online for over 10 years now so I think I have learned a few tricks here and there.
